Recommendations for Diving: The Best Way to Experience the Mysteries of Life
Speaking of summer activities...
We have entered the season of intense heat, and it is finally time to feel that it is "summer"!!
What comes to mind when you think of summer activities?
There are many, but the first thing I want to do is go [diving]!
I cannot forget the introductory diving experience I had in Okinawa when I was a university student,
and I got my license in my first year of working and still do it as a hobby today.
Recently, I often hear people say they want to find a new hobby or are looking for fun ways to spend the summer,
so I would like to personally recommend it under the title "Recommendations for Diving," including the reasons why I got hooked!
Why I recommend it
There are many reasons why I recommend diving,
but among them, for those who want to try it for the first time, there are two main reasons why I can recommend it.
1. Permanent International License
The first recommended point is that it is a [permanent international license]!
You can try diving as an introductory experience, but while most of those are fun, you are basically being "kept" by an instructor,
so there is a bit of a lack of feeling like you are experiencing the activity yourself.
A license is required for the area where you experience it yourself, and this is incredibly worthwhile!!
・No renewal required after obtaining it once
・Globally recognized
When you hear the word license, you might have an image that it is troublesome, but it is easy to understand if you compare it to a driver's license.
In the case of a driver's license, there are periodic renewal timings even after you obtain it.
Although the troublesome training is only at the beginning, I think the image of a driver's license is that you have to go to the police station for renewal procedures each time.
On the other hand, diving has absolutely none of this troublesome renewal!
Of course, if there is a gap, I recommend taking a simple refresher course at a diving shop, but there are no renewal procedures.
Once you obtain it, you can continue to use it without needing to renew it ever again.
Also, to use a driver's license internationally, you need to register for an international driving permit.
This is also for a limited time, and you need to apply for registration every time you use it.
However, diving does not require this at all.
Since it is issued by an international organization from the start, it can basically be used in any country!
It is especially recommended for those who like traveling abroad, as you can dive anywhere in the world with just the same license♪
2. For all ages and genders
The second recommended point is that it can be enjoyed by [people of all ages and genders]!
Especially with sports hobbies, there are many cases where it becomes difficult to continue as you get older due to physical issues.
Just like the reason why golf is increasing as a hobby for working adults, hobbies tend to lean toward things that can be continued even as you age.Diving is exactly what adds to those options!
There is no intense exercise at all. You will be wearing heavy equipment, but in diving where you spend time underwater, you will not feel that weight due to buoyancy.
It is a sport where you do not need agile motor nerves, and it is actually important to enjoy it slowly and calmly.
Since you never do it alone, there are always buddies or instructors diving with you,
and it is a feature of diving that there are often elderly people and people with disabilities who are actually experiencing it.
Women and children also do not need to worry, as the support of strong men of the sea is inevitably included.
It is a sport that is kind to everyone, and that is diving!!
The charm of diving
I hope that by reading the above, you have understood why it is an accessible and highly recommended hobby.
Now, I would like to conclude by sharing the personal appeal that makes me so passionate about it.
The greatest appeal I feel is that
“there are sights that can only be seen through diving.”
When summer comes, there are many opportunities to enjoy the beach, swimming, and marine activities, but the scenery you can see there is limited.
To talk a little bit about biology, humans are lung-breathing creatures to begin with.
While staying on “land” for long periods is a given, humans remaining underwater is not something assumed by conventional wisdom.
Even if humans see the ocean from “above,” they are not naturally meant to see it from “below.”
However, it is precisely diving that makes this “view from below” a reality.
99.99999999999999999…% of human life is spent looking at the sea surface from above, but this is the only way to “look up” at the sea surface.
Once you see that view, you will undoubtedly be hooked.
Don't you want to see a view you have never seen before you die?
I would love for you to see and experience this with your own eyes.
There is no doubt that you will be able to taste the moment you truly feel the “ocean,” the source of life.
In conclusion
I have spoken quite passionately about all of this, but has everyone become interested in diving?
There are still many charms and recommended points that I cannot fully express, but regardless, please try it out at least once!
Even within the country, there are many places in tourist destinations with beautiful seas, such as Okinawa, where you can easily experience it♪
Give it a try.
First of all, please experience it for yourself with your own body!
