屋外でなにかを集めていたのだ。
小石とか木片みたいな小物を。

そして、それらを誰かに差し出す。
すると、野球のボールが一個こぼれ落ちた。

それは傾いた地面を転がり、石段で弾む。
それから道端の小川の手前で止まった。

小川は近くの住宅の玄関から始まっていた。

住人であろうところの老婆が物申す。
「そんなところに置かれたら迷惑だね」

しかしながら問題は小川の源流である。
おれは玄関から家の中に押し入る。

脚が折れて平板が割れた食卓があった。
その割れ目から水が流れ落ちていた。

おれは猛烈に腹が立った。
ここはおれが貸してる家ではないか。

こんなふうに水を垂れ流されてはたまらない。
すべてが駄目になってしまう。
　

Power of Water

I was collecting things outside.
Small things like pebbles or pieces of wood.

And I give them to someone else.
Then a baseball ball fell out.

It rolls on sloping ground and bounces on stone steps.
Then it stopped short of the roadside stream.

The stream began at the entrance of a nearby house.
An old woman who seems to be a resident there speaks.

"It would be a nuisance
if you put something like that in a place like that."

The problem, however, is the source of the creek.
I break into the house through the front door.

There was a dining table
with a broken leg and a broken flat plate.

Water was dripping from the crack.

I was furious.
Isn't this the house I rent to her?

It is unbearable to have water dripping like this.
It ruins everything.
