I Do Not Chase Those Who Leave
Everyone has disappeared from my life.
They say you shouldn't chase those who leave, but...
this is just too much.
I never had parents or siblings to begin with.
I was enjoying a shut-in life thanks to the massive inheritance my parents left behind.
Three housekeepers used to take care of my meals, laundry, and cleaning, but...
all three of them stopped coming three days ago.
Even if I wanted to contact them, I don't even own a smartphone.
With no other choice, I stepped outside for the first time in ten years.
There is no one in the city.
And there are posters everywhere.
The last day on Earth?
A giant meteorite attack?
The Planet Nuts migration plan?
Maybe they're movie posters.
I don't watch TV, listen to the radio, or use the internet.
That's why I know nothing about what's happening outside.
No matter how far I walk, I don't meet anyone.
Just then, the air around me trembled.
And then, a tremendous roar.
I look up and see a giant rocket ascending
Could it be...
A thought seized me
I was running, out of breath
There is no one here
A poster
A poster
A poster
Departing for Planet Nuts on December 2nd
That's today
January 1st, 2026, the last day of Earth
Giant meteorite incoming
Farewell, Earth
Seeing these posters, I understood everything
In about a month, the Earth will be gone
And almost all humans and animals have escaped Earth on that rocket earlier
And I was left behind
They say don't chase those who leave, but
I want to chase them
But I cannot
So, you can't chase those who leave, huh?
One month later
I will witness the end of the Earth
I have participated in this project. Thank you for having me.
