Noa Isegawa

Born in Gifu Prefecture, raised in Aichi Prefecture. Born on October 12, 1998. She has built her career primarily as an actress on stage, and in recent years, she has expanded her activities into the field of film and television.

In 2010, she joined Gekidan Himawari Nagoya. The following year, she was selected for the elite class (musical course). With the belief she held as a child that "if I become a character, all my dreams will come true" as her starting point, she has honed her expressive power primarily on stage.

Since moving her base to the Kanto region, she has appeared in various stage productions, sometimes taking on roles that are central to the work. With her flexible adaptability and "acting that conveys," she is steadily expanding the scope of her activities. She is currently appearing in the stage play "KURENAI." After finishing the Tokyo and Osaka performances, the Aichi performance is scheduled for June 19th to 21st at the Nakagawa Cultural Small Theater. In recent years, she has been focusing on appearing in video works, further broadening her field of expression.

While possessing solid verbal power and the ability to convey, she also showcased "furious acting" on Nobuyuki Sakuma's "NOBROCK TV." With that wide range and spontaneity, attention is also gathering on a new side of her.

"Otakebi" / Yusuke
A single released in 2011, it is the theme song for the movie "Naruto Shippuden the Movie: Blood Prison." It is a cheering song with an impressive, powerful message and a sound full of speed. The lyrics are scattered with many four-character idioms, passionately expressing the courage to face difficulties and the bonds with friends. It is a song that shines with Yusuke's characteristic straightforward words and energetic singing voice, and it is loved as a popular number that gets the crowd excited at live concerts.

"BAD" / Michael Jackson

The title track of the album "Bad" released in 1987, it is one of Michael Jackson's representative hit songs.

Michael himself was in charge of the lyrics and composition. "BAD" is not used in the sense of "bad," but in street slang, it is used with the nuance of "the best and coolest" or "stylish." It is a song with an impressive funky, powerful beat and provocative vocals.

Also, the music video became a hot topic because it was directed by film director Martin Scorsese. Produced as a short film lasting about 18 minutes, the dance scenes set in New York subway stations and city streets are known as one of the most memorable scenes in pop music history.

The album "Bad" sold tens of millions of copies worldwide, and five songs from the album reached number one in the US consecutively. This was the first record in history at the time, and "BAD" is a symbolic work that solidified Michael's position as the "King of Pop" following "Thriller."

"Monthly Collection," which features one artist for a month

The artist we are picking up this month is ORANGE RANGE!

ORANGE RANGE is a five-piece band from Okinawa. Formed in 2001, they made their indie debut in 2002. The following year, in 2003, they entered the major scene with "Kiri Kiri Mai," and went on to release numerous hit songs such as "Shanghai Honey," "Locolotion," and "Hana," quickly becoming one of Japan's representative bands.

Their great appeal lies in their sound, which freely incorporates diverse genres such as rock, hip-hop, reggae, and pop, as well as their unique style woven by three vocalists. They continue to create songs that are loved across generations.

In recent years, they have become a hot topic again due to the renewed attention on "Ikenai Taiyo," and last year they appeared on the "NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen" for the first time in 19 years. This year, they are celebrating their 25th anniversary and are actively engaged in activities such as live performances and releases. They are a band representing the Japanese music scene that continues to evolve even now.

"Locolotion"

With the massive success of this song and "Shanghai Honey," ORANGE RANGE's image as a "summer band" became widely established.

Also, the music video was filmed at a rented hotel pool in Okinawa. It is said that many of the extras appearing in it were friends of the members, and the sense of openness and fun that the song possesses is reflected directly in the video.

"Ishindenshin"

This is a coined word combining the title "Ishindenshin" (telepathy/heart-to-heart connection) and "denwa" (telephone/telegraph), carrying the message that "even if we are apart, our hearts are connected." The catchy melody and heartwarming lyrics were supported by a wide range of generations, and it recorded a long-running hit on the Oricon charts.

This song, which has the theme of connections between lovers, friends, and family, overlapped with the mobile phone culture of the time and resonated with many people. It continues to be loved as one of ORANGE RANGE's representative popular songs even today.

"*~Asterisk~"

Released in 2005, it is the opening theme for the popular anime "BLEACH."

It features a dynamic sound typical of ORANGE RANGE that fuses rock, hip-hop, and rap, and is impressive for its fast-paced band ensemble and the interplay between the three vocalists. The title "Asterisk (*)" also carries the meaning of infinite possibilities and expansion into the future.

Highly supported by anime fans, it is a rock tune representing the 2000s, filled with momentum and energy.

"Hana"

Released in 2004, this single is a representative song of ORANGE RANGE that became a huge hit as the theme song for the movie "Be With You."

Unlike their previous up-tempo image, this is a grand ballad themed around love for a precious person, parting, and the connection of life. The warm sound incorporating strings and the sad yet gentle lyrics resonated with many people.

As one of ORANGE RANGE's biggest hits, it also ranked high on the 2004 annual charts. It is a masterpiece that has been sung across generations and continues to be chosen for milestones in life, such as weddings and graduation seasons.

'Overdrive' / Jisoku 36km

Formed in 2016, Jisoku 36km is a rock band that has gained support for their lyrics that straightforwardly depict emotions like pain, conflict, and kindness, as well as their high-energy live performances that seem to lay bare all human emotions. They made their major debut this April.

On the 24th of this month, they will release their first major album, 'Me wo Tojitemo Nokoru Aka' (Red That Remains Even When You Close Your Eyes). 'Overdrive,' which we are presenting, is a track included on that album. It is a powerful, fast-paced number infused with the desire to recapture the 'initial impulse' from when you first started aiming for something.
