How I Got a Job Offer After Writing Monthly Reports on note
I started publishing monthly reports in November 2023, and it has been almost a year. It is by no means a long period, but there were still benefits to continuing to write. I received a job offer.
I realized two things from this experience✍️
Regardless of the number of SNS followers or years of experience, sharing information has meaning.
A well-organized note that conveys your achievements and personality builds trust.
In my monthly reports, I introduce articles published that month, SNS posts that received a lot of feedback, and so on. I also briefly include events I attended and personal happenings.
I am in my second year as a freelance writer. I have about 300 followers on X and about 120 on note. I am doing this in a relaxed and small-scale way.
While wondering who would even read my monthly reports, I have updated them every month because I wanted to preserve valuable experiences that would otherwise disappear if I didn't write them down.
Until last month, I didn't have the capacity (or energy) to update notes other than the monthly reports, so I wasn't very diligent about self-promotion.

Then, one day in September, an email arrived for me.
I saw your note. Would you be interested in writing interview articles for our media?
That was the content. I was shocked. Is this a suspicious media outlet? I checked it thoroughly. (Pardon me)
As it turned out, it was a wonderful request from a great media outlet, but I had to decline because our schedules didn't align...
It was a shame, but in the end, I received warm words saying,“I know you have a small child and it’s a difficult time. Please don't push yourself too hard.”.
They really read my note... that's why they even knew about my family structure...Thinking that, my heart was full.

I also received a contact from another media outlet wanting to hire me, which led to ongoing work. Taking advantage of the person in charge's friendliness, I asked, “Why did you choose to hire me?”
Among the reasons they gave me, there was the phrase,“I read your note and thought I could trust you.”.
I don't have anything particularly superior to other writers, but perhaps the trust that comes from my personality is embedded in the notes I write in my own words through trial and error... it gave me a little bit of confidence.
There is always someone watching.
Without forgetting that, but also without being too nervous. I will write my own unique notes starting tomorrow as well.
