[Developmental Support] 71: The Legend of the 3-Year-Old Eccentric's Shichi-Go-San

Coincidentally, four years have passed since that title, and my daughter is turning
7 for Shichi-Go-San this year.
We had the pre-shoot at a photo studio the other day.

Of course, Daddy did not... go.
He was in bed feeling unwell, so what of it? (tears)

I will definitely participate in the autumn shrine visit!

Now for the main topic.

For her 3-year-old Shichi-Go-San, we also did a photo studio pre-shoot and
a visit to the shrine.

My 3-year-old eccentric.
The terrible threes.
She was right in the middle of developmental support.

We booked a visit to a famous shrine near my in-laws' house,
and when we got there, there were about 7 groups in total.
Everyone was wearing masks due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Except for us, all the girls were in kimono.
Since we had already taken photos at the studio, we were in formal Western clothes.

"I wanted to wear a kimono too!"

My daughter immediately had a suspicious vibe.
And after this, she lived up to expectations perfectly.

The Shichi-Go-San visit follows the order of prayer → kagura dance → shrine visit.

During the prayer, the Shinto priest began reading the norito (liturgy).

Naturally, my restless eccentric couldn't wait.
I tried to soothe her and keep her seated, but
she finally exploded.

"Diaper, full! Diaper, change!"

My daughter shouting about needing to pee in the front row during the liturgy.

Even the gods, and Takao Osawa, would be surprised with their eyes closed.

An indescribable atmosphere filled the air.

"You'll get a treat when this is over (really)!"
I managed to calm her down, and she seemed interested in the kagura,
so we somehow finished.

My daughter left the shrine feeling satisfied after getting her treat.

The embarrassment I felt as a parent back then was off the charts (lol).

Thanks to the effects of developmental support, I don't see such bold
behavior anymore.
I guess she just doesn't know when to stop when she's on a roll.

Now, will we be able to get through this year's visit safely?
