Thursday Night Shoulder-Special Note: A Talk About Three Places to Gently Touch to Ease Today's Shoulders
Thursday night.
It's a little chilly outside,
and when you dim the lights in the room,
the silence slowly spreads.
It's always at this time
that my shoulders start to feel heavy.
The feelings I pretended not to notice during the day
gently emerge at night.
"You worked hard today, didn't you?"
I felt like I could hear that voice from somewhere.

🌾 Shoulders aren't the only ones working hard
On days when your shoulders feel painful,
more than the shoulders themselves,
the top of your head,
the slightly stiff spots above your ears,
and the base of your neck where it feels good to warm up
are often the ones that are tightly knotted.
Those are the places that have been working hard all day,
taking in all sorts of sounds, words, and feelings.
Your shoulders were just quietly taking on
the rest of that burden.
---
🌙 Tonight, try touching places other than your shoulders
You don't have to do anything difficult.
You don't have to press or massage them.
Just,
touch them gently.
---
🌼 1. Gently place your fingers on the top of your head
That is the place where the day's restlessness gathers.
Just by placing your fingers there,
your breath expands softly.
It's as if the dust that had piled up on your heart
is being gently brushed away.
---
🌼 2. Gently loosen the “stiff spots” above your ears
This is where the sounds of your hard-working heart accumulate.
When you touch them in small, circular motions,
the depths of your shoulders slowly loosen up.
"It's okay now for today."
I feel like I can hear that voice.
---
🌼 3. Warm the base of your neck and head
This is like the “entrance” that connects your head and body.
When you gently apply a warm towel,
the warmth spreads slowly,
and your shoulders feel lighter, as if they are saying,
"You're finally home."
---
※ Doing ① through ③ at the same time is very kind to your shoulders.
🌌 Summary for Thursday night
