I Bought Beaujolais Nouveau - 2025
As a sexagenarian trainee who got hooked on strength training just as I was reaching the age of sixty, I love wine. I have over 50 bottles of wine in my home cellar, which I sip on little by little. I haven't bought much Beaujolais Nouveau lately, but I bought some for the first time in a while for the 2025 season, so I'd like to write about that in today's note.
These are the two bottles I bought.

Yes, it's a special Beaujolais Nouveau imported by JAL. The context is that I was in a hurry to use up miles I had saved before the pandemic that were about to expire, but I think it was actually a pretty good choice.

I had heard in advance that because of the hot summer in 2025, the harvest volume decreased but the grapes ripened well, resulting in a rich flavor, and it is indeed rich.
It is overflowing with fresh fruitiness, but it has a deep, bold flavor, with a refreshing acidity and tannins in the aftertaste, making it feel like a New World Pinot Noir.
As a sexagenarian trainee, I bought this using JAL miles, so I don't know the actual price, but if you can find Beaujolais Nouveau at an affordable price nearby, I think it's not a bad choice to buy some.
And so, that is how this sexagenarian trainee enjoyed the 2025 Beaujolais Nouveau.
