Sayonara isn't a word for parting...!?
#ArticleRequest(Freebie lol)
One of our WEB team members asked me, "What is the correct way to wear sandals?"
I've decided to let Yuna share her biased love for them here ☺︎
To begin with, what even are sandals?
This, right here. This is the footwear that first led humanity to stop walking barefoot. They even appear in Egyptian wall paintings. If you look up the oldest ones in existence,

They are sandals made of bark fiber discovered in Fort Rock Cave, Oregon. They are 10,500 years old.
For those who guessed it,
that's right,Zori (Japanese sandals)!
I found an interesting article by BEGIN✨
How "flip-flops" are called around the world
USA [FLIPFLOPS]
New Zealand [JANDAL]
Australia [THONG]
Peru [SAYONARA]
Malaysia [JAPANESE SLIPPER]
↪︎ JAPANESE SLIPPER
Turkey [TOKYO]
Wait, aren't they almost all derived from Japan?
That's right! The "Sayonara" I used in the title isn't a word for parting, it'sa sandal! Back to the topic (sweat).
Sandals are
the roots of footwear.
So, what is the correct way to wear them?
Sandals have a casual image, right? Like for days off, summer trips, or the outdoors.Sandals belong in open, scenic landscapes. I can state that clearly. But the origin is actually the reverse; people started wearing footwear to protect their bare feet in nature so they could travel further. If you go back to ancient rituals, could you say wearing sandals is actually formal? Not necessarily. It's just that our lifestyle has changed... wait? Have I heard that somewhere before? lol.
Modern sandals have also evolved into a wide variety of types. The roots of all of them lie in their intended use, and the necessary functions for those environments have been designed and evolved. Let me introduce a few representative ones...
◎Indoor wear☞ Birkenstock
Characterized by a footbed (sole) that acts as "wearable medicine," making them suitable for indoor use.

◎Street wear☞ Sports sandals
"Sandals x Sneakers." The representative brand is Teva.
Equipped with functions that allow you to handle the outdoors and even water in sandals. The pioneer of the "sports sandal" which was the first in the world to feature an ankle strap.

◎Fashionable wear☞ Leather sandals
These are classified more by shape than by representative brand. I recommend the Gurkha type. They don't expose too much of the foot, so they look elegant and protect your toes.

I borrowed these images from HEP, whom I hope to collaborate with someday (I'm sending them a love call on note without permission lol).
They are also on note!
My recommendations for choosing sandals
Indoor footwear

Birkenstock Boston
The black leather and plain toe look neat, even for unexpected guests.
Next

Birkenstock Zurich
Recommended for when you want a relaxed feel indoors! Personally, I like open-toe styles because my feet get stuffy if the toes aren't exposed.
For wearing around town
Teva's classic Hurricane
It's a staple. At the end of the day, it's comfortable to wear. That's why it's a classic. It can handle serious outdoor activities and you can even wash it with water!

I think sports sandals are the best for summer. The key is to always choose ones with straps since you'll be walking. It's safe because you don't have to worry about them slipping off!
For a stylish look

MOONSTAR 810s
It's neither leather nor a Gurkha sandal, sorry. The previous ones were just the basics. I worry about leather getting ruined in sudden rain. For Gurkha sandals, I recommend the synthetic leather ones from HEP☆
If you're trying out stylish sandals for the first time this year, start by wearing something simple and understated. The functionality is based on nursing shoes, so they won't put a strain on your feet.
Lastly! Choosing the size
I can say it in one word.
Please choose just right size. You'll regret it if you choose a size slightly larger like you would with sneakers. If they're too small, your toes will stick out. If they're too big, they'll slip off. The guideline is that your toes shouldn't stick out and the heel should fit perfectly. This is absolute.
Oh, socks!
I've already exceeded 1,500 characters, so I'll keep it brief.Ribbed-plain is best! What's that? I know, right.

It's a style with highly cushioned ribbing around the ankle, like this. The best type has plain, non-textured knitting at the toes. The ribbing protects the ankles where the straps hit. Plain knitting (flat) that fits snugly at the toes is great for both appearance and support!
Yes
How was it?
I feel like I won't be able to stop,
so I'll wrap things up here for now♪
Thank you
for reading
this far!
Yuna,
(Did you get that, Tabio boys?)
