Rereko's Family Episode 6: Things You Don't Realize Until Someone Else Points Them Out
—Introduction—
This is a story from a few years ago.
I'm writing this based on a few notes and hazy memories, so if there's anything that seems off, I'd appreciate it if you could let me know. ( ´∀`)
【Summary of previous episodes】
Rereko consulted the Community General Support Center about the problems with her mother, who has dementia, and her second eldest brother (the older brother), who is a NEET.
The day after she called, a social worker and a public health nurse visited, and that was when she learned that her second eldest brother has a developmental disability.

(Since premiums had been unpaid for many years, perhaps it was a certificate of eligibility that was issued instead of an insurance card?)

From episode 5.

My eldest brother had a developmental disability too! (;´д`) Ouch!
My second eldest brother has a developmental disabilityWhen I heard that, I was convinced, thinking, “I see, that makes sense! I didn't know the name for it, but I knew something was up!” and if anything, I felt relieved, but
My eldest brother has a developmental disabilityWhen I heard that, I got the chills.
After all, he is my older brother, 12 years my senior, and I have relied on him up until now.
I had left a lot of things to him.
Looking back calmly, there were plenty of things about my eldest brother that made sense too, but he had always worked hard and seriously, and
the impact of my second eldest brother was so strong that it kind of hid the oddities of my eldest brother...
At this point, I started to worry, “What about me?” but well, it's fine even if I have a developmental disability.
The point is
“whether or not you can live on your own.”
My eldest brother can probably live on his own, but my second eldest brother couldn't.
If you can't do it, you need support.
Also, long-term care insurance. I had heard something about it on the news, and I knew it was being deducted from my salary, but
I didn't understand that it was insurance used for elderly people like my mom. It's quite embarrassing.
What's more, even though I understood it quite well and took decisive action back then, now, several years later, my knowledge has become fuzzy again... oh boy... 💧(;´д`)
But!
That's wherethe Community General Support Centercomes in!
They really do teach you kindly and patiently, over and over again.
I learned the importance of relying on experts at that time, so
I hope I can convey that to everyone.
Well then,
believing that there is someone out there who will find this story worth reading, to be continued.
