I went to a public recording of the show called 'Hayaku Okita Asa wa...'
Does everyone know the show 'Hayaku Okita Asa wa...'?
It's a show that airs on Sunday mornings at 6:30, where the three of them—Kiriko Isono, Naomi Matsui, and Yumi Morio—sit in a room, chat, read letters from viewers about their complaints and grievances, and talk about this and that.
Believe it or not, this show is in its 32nd year.
A super long-running show!!
It's been on since I was a child, and back then it was called 'Osoku Okita Asa wa...' and aired at 9:30 in the morning.
32 years is amazing!!
From what I remember, when I was a toddler, it would be playing on the TV that was left on after I finished watching all the Sunday morning cartoons. My aunt and mother would be watching it, and I would just be there too. I remember thinking it looked fun and aspirational to see cute, beautiful women gathered together talking. I didn't watch it every single week—there were years I didn't watch it at all—but I'd watch it if I happened to have the time.
I knew from digest episodes that they held an event once a year called 'On Stage' where the three of them would perform skits and sing at a theater, and I was really interested in it.
I had forgotten all about that, but this year it suddenly popped into my head.
I thought, 'I want to go!'
I decided, 'I'll go when I can!'
But at that exact moment, the show moved from terrestrial TV to CS.
I was surprised.
It made me realize that things I thought would always be there can suddenly change.
I was relieved because I was subscribed to FOD and could still watch it, and on top of that, I became a member of the paid 'Haya-Asa Channel'.
I realized that I actually liked it quite a bit.
It gives me a sense of security and makes me feel bright and cheerful.
It's a show I want to keep watching forever and want to see continue.
I checked every day thinking, 'If there's another event, I'm definitely applying!' and then I saw an announcement on the official Instagram account for a public recording titled 'Fan Appreciation Day,' so I applied immediately.
A chance!
Wishes really do come true.
I was lucky enough to be selected to attend, and I was moved by how beautiful everyone was and how small their faces were—they really are celebrities.
I felt truly happy to be able to share the same space with the three people I'd been watching since I was a child.
The first part was the public recording for the show, and the second part was the recording for the Haya-Asa Channel broadcast.
Both parts were so much fun!!
The three of them had such natural roles: Kiriko Isono would talk freely or come up with ideas, Naomi Matsui would agree or react and sometimes tease the audience, and Yumi Morio would stay calm, balance things out, listen, and offer advice. Their individual colors created great teamwork, and it was so cool.
I attended the second part, but it seems the first part will air in July and the second in August. I don't know which parts will be used, so I think it's probably better not to write about the details until then.
There is so much I want to write that it's frustrating!!!
To write what I can, the audience was more diverse than I expected. I thought it would be mainly housewives, and that's probably true, but there were many people there with their parents or children. I thought that was really nice.
For the Haya-Asa Channel recording, the audience members were asked to fill out a survey beforehand, and those who were chosen had a system where they could interact with the three people on stage.
Those who were chosen were also presented with a colored paper signed by the three of them.
That's when I realized that there were people who came with their children and people who came with their parents, and I was reminded again that it's a wonderful show that can be watched by two or three generations of a family.
It made me think I'd like to go with my mother too.
Also, I was surprised to find that there were quite a few single male customers, which was also fun.
The interaction with the audience was really interesting, and I laughed a lot. What I felt strongly was related to family love.
Various forms... for example, even while getting angry, arguing, or being unable to be honest, I felt from listening to the stories of the people whose surveys were read and who talked with the three of them that it all comes from love for family and communication.
From there, it branched off into a story about Kiriko Isono's family. I wonder if that part will be aired—I really hope it is.
I shed tears watching the three of them interact.
I got teary-eyed; I was truly moved by the bond between the three of them.
I was surprised because I didn't expect to be moved to tears, and I felt very sleepy afterward.
It was an event that made me think I definitely want to go again.
When a show has been running for 32 years, you get to see the lives of each member, which I think is amazing.
Speaking of Haya-Asa, it often trends on X, but it's the episode where Kiriko Isono announced her divorce, right?
Have you ever seen it?
It was an incident about six years ago (I call it an incident on my own). She had a husband 24 years younger than her, but they ended up divorcing, and the reason was that he said he wanted children.
It was sad, and when I first saw it at the time, it was so scary that I shuddered.
Regarding that, my mother said at the time, 'The other person should have known that when they got married, it's too much,' and I think many people in the world probably felt the same way.
It was a hot topic, but I was able to think about such things with my mother at the time.
As for me, I can't have children either, so I was terrified and identified with her, thinking it would be too painful and scary to be told goodbye for a similar reason.
But even before that, I didn't have a lover then or now, and I didn't want to think about whether there was something wrong with my personality in the first place, but I've finally started to think about it.
It's one of the things I've been turning a blind eye to.
That kind of talk, and Naomi Matsui is a single mother and sometimes talked about her son, so I sort of knew her son's name was Naoki-kun, but the fact that he's already an adult—while it's natural—surprised me at the passage of time. Yumi Morio's two daughters have each married and given birth, and Yumi Morio has grandchildren, which also feels like life.
I also think it's truly amazing that Yumi Morio used to travel between the US and Japan for work.
When I was searching for various things to write this diary, I found an interview article with the three of them, and it said that the recording of Haya-Asa has become a part of their lives.
It's amazing to be able to see so much of people's lives.
So I know that Kiriko Isono is a Yakult fan, likes birds, is a member of the Wild Bird Society of Japan, and goes mountain climbing.
I really like that she is curious and challenges herself with various things.
I learned for the first time at this public recording that Naomi Matsui likes the ocean.
It seems it was an episode from about six years ago, around Christmas, when Yumi Morio knitted socks by hand and gave them to the two of them as a present.
Yumi Morio said, 'It's the first time I've knitted, so it might not be good, don't look too closely,' and Naomi Matsui was moved to tears that she had made them by hand, and seeing that, Kiriko Isono cried, and seeing that, Yumi Morio cried... that's what happened.
Heartwarming.
I wish I could have watched that episode!!
On FOD, you can only watch episodes from after the move to CS, so it's quite a shame!
I want to watch that episode.
Also, in one episode, when they were reading postcards sent by viewers, there was a topic about goldfish, and when they happened to look at the goldfish tank in the studio set, they noticed a goldfish stuck in a hose and unable to move, so the three of them rescued the goldfish.
I like this story too.
When I look into various things, I see not only good topics but also the word 'discord' here and there.
But watching them, I didn't feel that way at all, and also, if you've been doing it for 32 years, it's inevitable that there might be times when you don't get along, or rather, that's to be expected.
Because their family environments are different, right? No children, children, married, divorced, etc.
If so, there are times when topics don't match, and since their personalities are different, there are times when opinions clash, and times when they are tired, so I think there are all sorts of things.
But I think there is a special relationship between the three of them that I cannot fathom.
I don't think there are many people who have been meeting and working with someone for 32 years, and also meeting them in private.
It's amazing that they've been able to do that.
There is a theme song for the show that was produced when the show name was 'Osoku Okita Asa wa...', and the three of them sing it.
Taking this opportunity, I wanted to listen to it properly, so I searched for it and listened to the full version for the first time.
In the lyrics,
・Because our ways of living are different, it's hard to match our schedules
・It's fun, our personalities match, and it would be a lie to say I've never felt stressed
・Between women, of course, you notice things you don't like, and the road to here hasn't been easy
There is a part that says that, and I really think it's true.
The person who wrote this song is amazing.
I feel the same way about these three, and I feel the same way about the idols (Mikitty, Kago-chan, Tsuji-chan & Rika-chan) that I was finally able to go see after I became an adult: I'm grateful that they have continued to be active for so long. I respect them.
And I thought that if I could gather and talk about the fun and painful things that happen in my own life, have people listen, listen to others, talk a lot, and finally turn it into a funny story, my happiness would become even deeper.
I was able to honestly feel that it's 'Love%' for friends and family, thank you.
The end.
