[Music Generation AI] I tried making a song based on a BTS article [SUNO]
I want to try using music generation AI!
I love games, so I watch game streams on YouTube, but there was a title that recently caused a stir, and a streamer made an MV based on it.
The quality was amazing, but when I checked the credits, it said 'Lyrics: Streamer, Composition/Vocals: AI'. AI is impressive!
So, I wanted to try it too.
Let's go to the creation site right away!
How to use it was surprisingly easy. Unlike video generation AI, I was surprised that it could be done in about a minute at the fastest.
This article was also easy to understand, so please check it out!
What about the lyrics?
You can have the AI write the lyrics for you, or you can create an instrumental without lyrics.
But since I'm at it, I want to create something related to BTS!
So, I fed my article into 'Perplexity' and asked it to 'summarize this like lyrics'. Why did I do that?
The reason I asked for a summary is because 'Perplexity' cannot display full lyrics or create entirely original ones to avoid copyright issues.
I had no choice but to use the extracted keywords as a base and write the lyrics myself.
By the way, the article I chose as the subject is this one. Was there nothing else?
Lyrics complete!
Here are the lyrics I made. Sorry for always going off on a tangent...
Time goes on feat. Yahoo! Chiebukuro by Neiro
Thank you, ARMY of the past
Your light still shines on us today
Chiebukuro, Chiebukuro, a treasure chest of BTS information
Questions from the spinal cord, answers with sincerity
Time goes on, Time goes on,
A magic mirror that changes with the times
Ask from the spinal cord, answer seriously
A treasure trove of laughter is here
Natto and Napolitan, the mystery of misheard lyrics
Tarako, pizza, and salad
Only Chiebukuro knows the answer
Chimchar is cute
Chimchar is cute
Chimchar is cute
'Jungkook wouldn't treat his hyungs badly.'
Chiebukuro, Chiebukuro, a treasure chest of BTS information
Questions from the spinal cord, answers with sincerity
Time goes on, Time goes on,
A magic mirror that changes with the times
Urgent, why is Jimin such a hard worker?
V is cool, please give me photos
Increasing questions that aren't really questions
Young people's voices echoing in a place to dump emotions
Time flows and questions never end
Chimchar is cute
Chimchar is cute
Chimchar is cute
'To V with that strange hairstyle. You are kind.'
Until the day we eventually graduate
Let's walk with gratitude into the depths of the swamp
Thank you, ARMY of the past
Your light still shines on us today
I ended up putting the punchline 'Chimchar is cute' into the chorus, but what was I thinking repeating a Pokémon name in a BTS fan article? Maybe I should have at least made it something like 'Baby monkey V is cute'... No, even before that, isn't this article barely stepping outside the 'BTS fan article' category?
...The worries never end. Is this what they call the pain of creation? (Probably not)
Here is the finished song
Ver.1:
The spoken part in the middle sounds a bit like rap, but how can I intentionally include this? The high notes on 'Natto' sound sad and are good lol
Ver.2:
There's a faint smokiness like V's at the beginning, which is good lol
The final vocal performance is decent. The repetition in the second half feels like it's meant to provoke.
Ver.3:
It became pop-like, a pattern that sounds like a girl idol.
Maybe because the voice is high, the lyrics are the easiest to hear.
Supplementary notes on music creation
You get 50 credits right after registering for free, but each time you select 'create', two versions of a song are generated, and 10 credits are consumed.
In short, with the free trial, you have 5 chances (10 songs) to try generating.
Note that the credit display doesn't update in real-time, so you have to reload the page to see the current number.
If you want to try it out, I recommend having your 'title', 'completed lyrics', and 'string of song style keywords' ready beforehand!
String of song style keywords:
Words specifying genres like 'rock', 'gospel', or 'opera', and moods like 'uplifting' or 'melancholic'.
It is said that it does not understand artist names.
※Note that it seems to be English only!
However, how the AI interprets these orders and what it creates depends on its mood, so just because you enter 'rock' doesn't mean you'll get rock. That's the rabbit hole and the real thrill of playing with AI.
Playing with AI is also a rabbit hole.
It's truly a great era where we can play at composing music so easily!
I'm glad I made it to the modern age. Thank you, Mom and Dad.
Once you have the necessary data ready at the start, you can make a song immediately, so after that, you just change the keywords and regenerate until you get a song style you like. My credits are melting away...!
The singing is natural and good, too. I was moved by the difference compared to the early days of Hatsune Miku.
If I can just add a suitable video, the music video is done, huh? I see.
Well, if I were to think of a proper way to use it as a fan, I suppose it would be to try making an ARMY song.
Knowing me, I'll probably make something off-the-wall, but it sounds fun...!
