[BTS] FC Renewal Window Consolidated to Weverse [From 2025/1/1]

Notice Regarding the Closure of the BTS JAPAN OFFICIAL FANCLUB Site Renewal Window

An announcement has been made by the BTS JAPAN OFFICIAL FANCLUB (hereinafter, Japan FC), which every Japanese ARMY has relied on at some point. What does this mean?
At my age, my eyes tend to glaze over when reading long announcements, but I did my best to read through it.

To summarize briefly, it is exactly as the article title states.
Previously, you could join or renew through either the Japan FC or BTS Weverse Shop Japan (hereinafter, Weverse Shop), but from now on, it will be unified through Weverse. Let's take a look at the points to note. If you are concerned, please be sure to visit the FC site and check the full text!

When will the change take effect?

The Japan FC window will close at the end of the year.
From 0:00 on 2025/1/1, you will only be able to perform FC enrollment and renewal procedures via Weverse Shop.

I am already using Weverse Shop, what do I need to do?

Nothing!

I am currently in the Japan FC, what should I be careful about when renewing on Weverse?

First of all, pay attention to your email address!

• Perform the renewal procedure using the same email address registered with the Japan FC.

  • If you use a different email address, you will be treated as a new member.

• Even if you perform the renewal procedure from Weverse Shop, your current membership number will not change.

  • A separate membership number for Weverse will be assigned.

• After performing the renewal procedure at Weverse Shop, if you link your Weverse account, you can receive a refund for your existing annual membership fee.

  • Refunds are available for those who renewed on or after 2020/8/14. There are conditions, so please refer to the following for details.

What should I be careful about when creating a Weverse Account?

If you plan to visit Korea, it is a good idea to match your registered name with your passport.

• You cannot change the email address once registered for a Weverse Account.

  • If you register with a mobile carrier email, you willbe unable to receive services upon cancellation.

  • If you are currently registered with a mobile carrier email, please update your Japan FC registration information to a browser-based email before performing the renewal procedure at Weverse Shop.

• For those using mobile carrier emails, be aware that if you use 'Sign in with Apple' or 'Hide My Email' when creating a Weverse Account, youwill not be able to renew.

• Enter the same name as on your identification document.

• After registering your Weverse Account, log in to the Japan FC and confirm your address entry.

From the perspective of personal information protection, it seems that member addresses are not currently shared between Weverse Shop and the Japan FC, so they will not be automatically reflected (it is unclear if there will be changes from 2025 onwards).
Since you will receive membership benefits, please check both registrations after joining.

Are there any differences in the benefits?

There are differences between the Japan FC and Weverse Shop. Please refer to this.
For those thinking of joining from now on, I think it would be easier to complete the process through Weverse Shop.

By the way, regarding the membership period, it is a 'valid for 365 days from the latest contract' switch-over type, so you cannot add days by renewing in the middle of the period.
Also, there is a simple plan for just membership and a deluxe plan with limited goods, but you cannot join both; you can only choose one or the other.

I was confused at first because I didn't really understand the membership process. Since there were two windows, I didn't know the difference 💦
I wonder if it will become easier to understand now that it's being consolidated into Weverse...?

Personally, I'm curious if the three shops (Global, Japan, USA) will be integrated. It's interesting how international fandom shows a breadth of development in places you wouldn't expect.
I think integrated management would be easier, including the handling of personal information, but I wonder how it will go?
