[Search Method] The Day Yoongi's Mic Broke [Where is that video?]
A common internet experience: "Where is this from!?"
I spend my nights surfing the web, searching for the BTS I haven't seen yet. This is what I found today!
カッコ良すぎて痺れた!

*Thud* (The sound of an arrow piercing my heart)
During the 'MIC Drop' performance on stage, Yoongi's mic breaks and stops producing sound, but the 3J members jump in to cover for him after just about one phrase.
Yoongi keeps performing in the center, and the voices of the ARMY who instantly realized, "This is our time to shine!" get louder, and Namjoon's full-force "Mianhae eomma!" is the best—my blood pressure went up...!
Mic mic bungee
Bright light moving forward 👈 Mic stops working around here
Must have thought it would fail
I’m fine, sorry 👈 3J members join in
Mianhae Billboard 👈 Yoongi takes off both his earpieces around here
Mianhae worldwide
A-deul-i neom jal-naga-seo mianhae eomma (Sorry mom, your son is doing too well) 👈 Namjoon & ARMY scream
BTS sometimes take off their mics on purpose to show that they aren't lip-syncing (that they are singing live), but how did they know at this moment that "this is an accident, not a performance"?
Whether they were told through their earpieces by the sound director that there was no audio, or if there is some intuition or signal only they understand, I am amazed by the speed and calmness of their response either way.
By the way, where is this stage from!? ( ;∀;)
BTS Detective on the case
If you don't know which video it is, you just have to go find it—that's the rule for geeks. I immediately set off on a journey to search for it!
Found the cited video
First, I found the original video from the name logo in the clip.
But even just looking at this, I couldn't tell which stage it was, so next I went to look for that. The outfits are distinctive, so I figured it out quickly with an image search.
Narrowing down the era from the outfits
I found a photo that matched these clothes. Looking at the logo, it's from BTS's official Facebook, so I went to check and verify it.
Since this photo was in the 2018 Yoongi birthday special, I narrowed down the 'MIC Drop' performances from that year.
Identifying the stage
While I was searching, I had seen mentions that "there was a mic trouble for Yoongi at the Gocheok Sky Dome concert," so identifying it was easy.

The 'BTS 4th Muster [Happy Ever After]' was held on 2018/1/13–14, and they performed 'MIC Drop' there.
Just to be sure, let's cross-reference it with the setlist data by concert I made previously. Alright, bingo (*´艸`)

All that's left is to confirm the date
Since the 4th Muster in Seoul was held over two days, I'll look for FanCams to pin down the date.
After checking, it was the stage on 2018/1/14 (DAY 2)!
There were other videos from the same angle, so it's likely from the official disc. I haven't reached the Korean fan meetings yet, so I'll add it to my 'must-buy' list... ( ._.)φ memo
This is the disc version.
And this is the FanCam.
I'm from a generation that doesn't possess the treasure of 'memories' or 'experience'—in other words, 'children who don't know the complete group'—so I solve things by working through the clues left behind every time. It's steady work.
I have nothing but gratitude for the predecessors who left these archives behind.
BTS one member short
I love videos like this.
Of course, I'm captivated by perfect performances, but seeing BTS unite and overcome trouble is just the best...!
I'm thrilled by their tight-knit bond, their professionalism, and their 'Show Must Go On' determination to see things through no matter what.
I've been collecting these kinds of stages, but it's turned into a list of accidents, illnesses, and injuries, which is a bit of a bad omen ( ;∀;) Well, I suppose that's true
By the way, I gathered the videos from when Yoongi was absent for shoulder surgery during the 'Dynamite' era in this article the other day and put them to rest.
Bonus: Honorary BTS Member for Life
By the 'Dynamite' era, BTS had already reached veteran status and had the composure to perform while intentionally leaving the empty seat as is, but in the early days, they were all still so desperate that you just want to cheer them on.
This stage is from the Gayo Daejeon during the period in 2013 when Yoongi was temporarily absent due to appendicitis. It's a rare pattern where Son Sung-deuk teacher danced 'No More Dream' as a substitute!
He seems busy with KATSEYE lately, but please, just be an honorary BTS member for life. Your seat is eternal!! ( ;∀;)

When I realize I've leveled up
BTS has a long history and a vast amount of content left behind, so it's rare that I think, 'Oh, I've grown.'
The more I search, the more mysteries seem to appear... A Greek nerd would call this 'Socratic ignorance,' and a Chinese culture nerd would call it 'knowing one's own insufficiency' (from the Book of Rites), but it's scary to reach such a state of mind from K-pop idols. It's less of a leap in logic and more of a crash landing.
However, this kind of source hunting is where I can feel my growth to some extent.
Since I got into BTS, I've been playing 'detective' like this every day, so naturally, my work has become faster. Plus, the data I've created myself is accumulating.
I'm currently building up my experience points! I pray that this article can share even a fragment of knowledge with fellow ARMYs who are doing the same.
To all the ARMYs who just gave a dry laugh, let's just watch because BTS is cute. Also, if you find a good video, please repost it and send it my way. I'll go look for it lol
