Are You Sure?! USA Edition Episode 1 [S1 EP.1]

The long-awaited first episode!

Ever since it was spoiled on 'Suchwita', I've been super excited for this travel show with Jimin and Jungkook, and it's finally out on Disney+!
I was looking forward to this so much that I even watched the teaser with half-closed eyes. After all, I wanted to be thrilled when watching the real thing, right!?

I laughed when I saw it was rated '12+' for "some inappropriate language" right from the start. I had set the parental controls to child-friendly thinking my family might watch it, and then I panicked when it didn't show up in the search results lol

Now, let's get straight to my thoughts!

Thoughts: Season 1 Episode 1

The two are eating. Jimin-chan is being so cute in hyung-mode, worrying about Kook who says his throat hurts a little (*´艸｀)

Since Kook was in the middle of his 'Seven' promotions, Jimin-chan apparently traveled for 14 hours because "it wouldn't happen unless I took the initiative."
Kook says the live broadcast was canceled today due to rain, so this must be the day of the 'Good Morning America (GMA)' Summer Concert Series on July 14, 2023!
Apparently, it was interrupted by thunder halfway through.

The two are being explained their destination. Kook's face is so round it's cute, making me wonder if this was the same handsome guy from 'Seven' lol
When he replied "I'll do it (the driving)," they were holding hands. I rewatched it and realized, and I leaned back in shock... ( ﾟДﾟ)

They set off immediately with Kook driving.
Even inside the car, Jimin-chan turns off the air conditioning, worrying about Kook's throat, which seems a bit cold-like.

It was 30 degrees that day, and he even turned on the seat heater, which surprised Kook, who said "My butt is hot." He's quite overprotective lol
Kook is so lovely for not even trying to turn it off and just accepting it when told, "I turned it on because I was worried about you."

By the way, in the middle of talking about how they always say they should meet but never do, Jimin mentioned, "I talk to Taehyung often, though (JM)."
The bond of the 95-liners dropped when I least expected it, making it even more precious...! (*ﾉωﾉ)

Regarding the title, when they said "Let's make it like an anime we watched in the past," they meant the Korean version of Crayon Shin-chan. Jimin-chan was doing an impression, and Kook told him, "I'll leave the narration to you."

On the way, they have lunch at a burger shop.
Jimin didn't seem to like the Gorgonzola, so he got Jungkook's steak burger. My heart is warmed by their usual habit of sharing food.
Seeing them eat heartily makes them look like growing young men, and it makes my motherly heart flutter. Eat your side dishes too, lol.

Next, they head to a store to buy some gear.
The argument between Jungkook, who is the type to look at the monitor when backing up the car, and Jimin, who seems like the type not to, is noisy and great, lol.

The two visit a brewery.
Jungkook, who says "Confidence is key for English," takes the lead and gets to sample light beer, hard seltzer, Mango Haze, and more.
There must be ARMYs out there who are tearing up, remembering his English lessons with Namjoon! We're in this together.

After buying souvenirs and switching to the designated driver, they head off to go kayaking!

Jimin laughs his head off and paddles away, ignoring Jungkook who capsized as soon as they started. His bare legs sticking out of his shorts are too dazzling!
Jungkook makes a cute excuse, saying, "I haven't been getting along with water lately." Watching Jimin enjoying himself on the water alone, he says, "I wish you'd fall in," lol.

As dusk approaches, the time when the sky behind them is blue but the path ahead is starting to turn rose-colored. Two light blue kayaks moving across the vast lake, and the voices of the two saying, "It's like a painting" and "It's truly beautiful." It's a scene that is nothing but healing...!

Seeing Jungkook paddling the kayak with all his might, Jimin-hyung laughs out loud and takes pictures. I can hear the phantom sound of Hobi's laughter!

By the time they reach the campsite, it's completely dark. It looks like they're going to have a barbecue and stay in a small cottage tonight.

Chef Jungkook starts cooking right away. He makes a sauce and marinates the pork. His kindness shines through as he caters to Jimin-hyung's preference, saying, "Jimin-hyung likes spicy food." His 'super-husband' parameter is maxed out!
When Jimin asks, "Can I taste it?", he offers him the sauce on his pinky finger. This is the pinnacle of preciousness...!

Jungkook starts grilling the meat on the barbecue grill.
There seem to be several insects literally flying into the fire, and he talks to them, saying things like, "Why are you in a place like that?", which is cute.
Memories of him talking to spiders come rushing back like a revolving lantern. This is the state of mind that makes Hobi laugh and say, "It's nice that you haven't changed...!"

Watching Jimin's back as he tried to slice onions into rings in the cramped kitchen, I found myself deeply reflecting, 'This is the same person who was looking so cool at the WHO the other day...' The gap in BTS is as wide as a bungee jump...
He's super dexterous with dancing, but his onion rings are thick and misshapen—I love that about him!

Jungkook, happy with the perfectly grilled meat, brings some over to Jimin inside the cottage to feed him.
He says it tastes like 'the yakitori from in front of the school,' as if memories of buying snacks are coming back to him. So he really was eating that stuff, huh lol

Meanwhile, Jimin, who is in charge of the ramen, is cooking while muttering things like, 'Jungkook will get mad if I mess this up.'
Watching him add soup powder while saying 'Is it too watery?' and then regretting it by saying 'Maybe I shouldn't have added it' makes me suspect he didn't measure the water at the start lol

As soon as they started eating, Jimin dropped his meat, but Jungkook didn't care and just focused on his ramen, saying 'It's okay, it's okay.' I've never seen someone use lettuce as a plate to eat ramen before lol
A global star putting rice into instant ramen to make ramen-rice—I can't help but stan...
By the way, the thing Jimin was using as a plate is actually a cap for carrying a set of beers bought as a souvenir. That's way too shallow lol

The two of them remember V's slip of the tongue where he kept mentioning trademarks during the maknae line live stream.

When the video call connected, we could see V with a huge smile. Ah, I feel like the world just got three shades brighter!

Taehyung-hyung, who had his call hung up on, immediately sent a text, but it seems the content was full of broadcast-prohibited words.
So, the culprit who raised the rating is likely V, then... ( ._.)φ

They've been together since they were teenagers and must have seen each other about 360 days a year at their busiest, so why are they so lovey-dovey? It just looked like they finished flirting without Jungkook even handing the phone to Jimin-hyung, so what are we supposed to do? I'm so restless I want to snap back and ask, 'What is this!?' I feel like there are 10 million ARMYs out there who have worn this part out from repeating it and can't move on! ( ﾟДﾟ)ｸﾜｯ

While I was failing to calm down, Jimin called Yoongi-hyung.
I want to praise how good they are at forcing other members to make cameo appearances, but it just looks like 'I drank some alcohol and wanted to hear hyung's voice 🐥,' so let's go with that interpretation!

'You have plans at 2, right?', 'Hyung is working out the hardest', 'You've gained quite a bit of weight'—the younger ones are firing off information about their brother one after another. They know way too much about each other lol

The first thing he said to Jungkook was so typical of Yoongi, I love it!
Even at the beginning of the first episode, Jimin asked, 'How was Jungkook today?' and they were checking the footage in the car right away; I really feel that they are people who put the stage first.
I took Jungkook's 'because I'm experienced' as him showing off that he's backed by the experience of performing countless times with BTS, but how did you all take it, ARMY?

Watching his 'Seven' activities, Jungkook looks like a complete pop star and is super cool, but when he's interacting with his hyungs like this, his playful maknae side comes out in full force, and it's incredibly cute...!

Jimin's mellow emotional depth really adds resolution to things.
If it were just Jungkook, it might have been a more breezy, high-energy 'We played! It was fun!' variety show (which would also be good), but having scenes like this adds pacing and depth to it as a documentary.

Jimin, who returned to the cottage, had his stomach condition worsen. Is it enteritis?
...I'm worried...

No, I am worried. Seriously.

This cottage only has one double bed, right?

And then, after the lights went out, there was no camera, and we could only hear their voices.

As a result, Jimin apparently took a direct hit to the face from Jungkook's elbow while he was fast asleep, and cooled it with soju ( ;∀;) Ouch.

Even in the morning, neither of them has recovered from their poor health. I'm worried.
Jungkook is filming his morning coffee time alone, but his face... his eyes and face shape are so round, he looks incredibly like a child. Why does this person's face look so different? No matter how many times I see it, it's a mystery.
Between Jin's baby face, Jimin's gender-ambiguous look, and V, I think 'faces that transcend various things' should be included as one of the Seven Wonders of BTS.

It's a strange situation to say this, but Jimin waking up sitting like a baby with his legs stretched out in front of him, and Jungkook, who likes playing by himself, stacking stones and praying, are both cute.
The next episode preview showed them playing energetically on boats and bikes, so I wonder if they recovered. I'm going to head into episode two with a racing heart!
