What is the state of mind when singing a member's solo song?

Every time I see videos of SUGA or Jungkook singing Jin's "Awake," I imagine what their state of mind must be.
The older brother's confession, "I probably can't reach the sky, but I want to walk a little further with these flowers," is sung by the younger brothers who are compared to the flowers.
If a hyung I loved wrote a song like that, I would cry. I might even avoid it because it's too sad.

But BTS sings it, don't they.
