Just Like Riding a Bike, Anyone Can Learn to Draw. The Story Behind the New Course 'Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain'
Hello, this is Kazuko Hara from Gabo Terakoya.
"I love drawing."
"I want to make a living from the art I love someday."
Even with those thoughts, the moment you decide to
"I'm going to draw shapes properly"
or "I'm going to do some sketching,"
don't you find your hand suddenly stops?

Even though I love drawing, the moment someone says 'sketching,' I think, 'I can't do that!'
Actually, this is
a real, honest sentiment that came up
during an online conversation
with a member of Gabo Terakoya.
I hear the same concern in Steiner education, where drawing is essential to the curriculum,
and even among people who say, "I love drawing illustrations."
In fact,
"I want to draw human figures and 3D objects attractively, but
my fear of sketchingjust won't go away."
Many people struggle with this.
A new project to effortlessly melt away the 'pain of not being able to draw' and the 'wall' you face,
so that anyone can draw with ease.
It is called"Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain".
Please take a peek at the real atmosphere from the moment the project was launched in this YouTube video (a partial release of the 'Adult Epoch Lesson' online course).

🎨 Drawing is a 'technique,' just like riding a bicycle.
"Drawing is only for people with talent."
……Don't you think that way?
No, that is actually completely wrong.
Drawing is exactly the same as
learning how to ride a bicycle.
Just as you learn the trick and eventually ride without thinking, once you know how to flip the 'right-brain switch,' anyone can unlock their innate drawing ability.

In this new project,
we will set aside difficult theories like Steiner philosophy for a moment,
and perform a total of eight workshops specialized purely in 'techniques and approaches for drawing.'
This content is specifically for those who have been hurt by
comparing their drawings to those of talented kids at school,
thinking, "My drawing is sad..."

A drawing made with care and heart
This is beautiful in its own way
📝 First, 'imperfect-but-good' is welcome! Starting with 4 'before' records.
In this course,
as a 'before' (preparatory stage) to understand your current state,
there is an assignment to draw four pictures in advance.
There is absolutely no need to try to draw well, aim for perfection, or feel embarrassed (and you are under no obligation to show them to anyone!).
What you need to prepare is'a large sheet of paper (size A3 or larger)'.
Instead of drawing small and timidly,
please be bold and try drawing the following four things in your spare time, taking about 10 to 20 minutes.
[Four 'Before' Records]
A drawing of a person(from memory, without looking at a mirror or photo)
A drawing of a living person(while watching an actual person, such as someone watching TV)
Your own 'hand'(while looking closely at your non-dominant hand)
A 'chair'(while looking at a real chair. Preferably one with four legs and a decorative cutout in the backrest)
Why do I give these assignments?
Because,
'the worse your 'before' drawing is, the greater the joy of the 'after' will be!'
From a state of thinking, 'This might not be any different from a five-year-old's drawing...',
see how much your own drawings change completely
once your right-brain switch is flipped.
The experience of that dramatic change is surprisingly fun,
and it should give you a great deal of confidence.

✨ Melt away your self-consciousness and unleash your unique expression
Why don't we turn the pain of saying,
'I can't draw'
into something fun together?
While feeling the same excitement
as when you first pedal a bicycle,
experience the moment your own hand
starts to move as if by magic.
We will announce the specific schedule and recruitment details for this new project
via our official LINE, email newsletter, and
here on note as they become available.
First, I hope you can feel the exciting
atmosphere of our
'Alright, we've got more work!'
'We've gone and added more!'
'But I love it, so it's okay~'
kind of scheming in our YouTube video.
I look forward to the time we spend together
unleashing your inner right-brain creativity!
