【Film Overview】

A unique action-adventure that combines elements of kung fu and the multiverse (parallel universes), depicting the story of an ordinary, overworked middle-aged woman who travels through the multiverse to become a kung fu master and save the world.

Evelyn is surrounded by headache-inducing problems: her laundromat business is on the verge of bankruptcy, her father is stubborn despite his senility, her daughter is in a never-ending rebellious phase, and her husband is kind but unreliable.

In the midst of her overwhelming daily life, her husband Waymond suddenly appears, claiming to be 'from another universe.' Waymond burdens the confused Evelyn with a surprising mission: 'Only you can defeat the powerful evil bringing chaos to the entire universe.'

Following the instructions of this 'husband from another universe,' she dives into the multiverse (parallel worlds) without knowing why, gains physical abilities like a kung fu master, and awakens as an unlikely savior. She throws herself into a grand battle on which the fate of all humanity rests.

Evelyn is played by Michelle Yeoh, known for 'Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings' and 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.'

Also, Ke Huy Quan, who gained popularity as a child actor in the 1980s in films like 'Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom' and 'The Goonies,' made headlines for his return to Hollywood theatrical films after 20 years, playing the husband, Waymond.

Jamie Lee Curtis of the 'Halloween' series played the villain, Deirdre.

But it didn't just end with being fun.

Thrown into a chaotic world, with chaotic emotions swirling, by the second half, I didn't even know why I was crying.

A fusion of bizarre developments and universal themes.

Evelyn, a middle-aged woman exhausted by reality, connects with the multiverse one day and experiences all the other possibilities of her life.

Any further explanation of the story would be superfluous.

I just want you to throw yourself into this world.

I don't think the unprecedented four acting nominations at the Academy Awards were just because they played multiple versions of themselves.

It's because they shine so brightly and show us such authentic, compelling emotions.

After that, just stop thinking and simply

let your brain be put in a blender and stirred up,

and weep at the poignancy of the truth you reach at the end.

The multiverse feels like a metaphor for the mixture of dreams, thoughts, and memories that unfold within the human brain.

Before I knew it, I had passed my mid-40s, and I found myself looking back at the past more than looking toward the future.

"If I had done things differently back then, maybe my life would be different now."

I have been traveling through my own memories, filled with regrets, disillusionment, and lost possibilities.

Perhaps we can finally find closure for those questions about life that have been repeated so many times.

Everything.

Everywhere.

Right here, right now.

Infinite possibilities and just one single life.

This one love.

Parents.

Wife.
