K-POP Named Youth Vol. 105 - Live Experience Report 6 (G)I-DLE World Tour in Toyosu (2022.9.17)

(G)I-DLE are already global stars.
The song "TOMBOY," released this year, was a sensational smash hit, and its music video has already reached nearly 200 million views. They are the number one girl group, ranking even higher than IVE, who are said to be the top of the 4th generation.

Now, they are coming to Japan for their WORLD TOUR. It is their first visit to Japan in three years. I feel lucky to have been able to attend this truly rare and precious opportunity.

I had originally taken a paid leave for that day, but because of a staff shortage, I ended up going to work in the morning and taking a half-day off in the afternoon.

The concert venue was Toyosu PIT. Doors opened at 3:00 PM. My queue number was 354. I absolutely could not be late.

I left the office exactly at 1:00 PM and headed to Toyosu. On the way, I stopped by my favorite pasta restaurant in Ginza, but I couldn't eat there because of the long line... I had no choice but to buy an apple pie and a ham cutlet egg roll and eat those instead.

I arrived at the nearest station, Shin-Toyosu Station, with plenty of time to spare, but it was just too hot! When I exited the ticket gate, I could see Toyosu PIT and a crowd of people, but I waited for a while in the shade inside the station.

Then, I arrived at Toyosu PIT right when the doors opened, waited 10 minutes for my queue number to be called, entered, and... secured a spot in the center by the partition bar, about 10 rows from the front! This was the best spot. I felt like I was definitely making eye contact with the center!

And it started at 4:00 PM!

It was just too amazing!

Yuqi and Minnie's charm and adorable interactions!

Yuqi's humor-filled atmosphere, and it was fun to celebrate her birthday with everyone midway through!

The gap between Minnie's cuteness during the talk time and her coolness during the performance is amazing!

Miyeon's divine beauty! She spoke entirely in Japanese, and her fan service was goddess-like!

Soyeon's charisma-filled coolness! Her rapping was also the best!

And, what surprised me was Shuhua's impressive, sensual expressions that conveyed deep emotion.

The setlist, packed with masterpieces, was also divine!

From the opening of Oh my god, I was instantly drawn into the world of (G)I-DLE, experienced the joy of dancing along to DUMDi DUMDi, was intoxicated by the fantastical beauty of my favorite song HANN (Alone), and enjoyed the fun moments during the MC breaks every few songs.

The second half was also truly queen-like, from HWAA to the coolness of LION! Their performance, which has evolved even further since 'Queendom,' and their overwhelming presence were incredible.

Then came the climax: we all danced to MY BAG together, and just as we were getting hyped up by the fast-paced, world-famous hit POP/STARS, TOMBOY arrived! The whole venue went wild; even though we weren't supposed to make noise, it turned into a sing-along during the chorus! Haha.

And then, the encore song POLAROID brought the curtain down with the members giving their all in fan service, leaving us wanting more.

Just when I thought it was over, there was a send-off event for all the audience members! I couldn't believe we were getting such luxury for free, and I left the venue after making eye contact and waving at the five of them from such a close distance (less than a meter away)—Yuqi's beaming smile was especially healing.

On the Yurikamome line ride home, I was left in a daze, still savoring the afterglow.

In any case, it was two and a half hours plus of experiencing (G)I-DLE with my own eyes and my own body to the fullest.

It was such a blissful time.

Ah, I've decided that whenever they come to Japan, I will definitely go to their concert.

And I'm looking forward to their comeback, too.

It was the kind of time that makes you feel like your life energy is surging.

Well, to put it in one word...

It was the absolute best!!!
