Do you need [qualifications] to make a living doing what you love?: Living by doing what you love!
Hello. This is Marisa from the 'Teni-shoku' (Professional Skills) Channel!
I started learning piano at age 3, began composing at 7, and later took lessons at the YAMAHA Music School before entering a music college. Currently, I perform in concerts, provide music compositions, stream performances on YouTube, and run a piano school with 90 students (as of 2025). I have achieved a peak monthly turnover of 5 million yen while maintaining a stable life.
Although I am now gratefully making a living through music, after graduating from university, I thought I couldn't make a living with music, so there was a time I quit music, and there were also times when I felt my life was over and only felt despair every day.
I started this note because I hope my experience will be useful to someone, and that the number of friends who can spend a rich life as artists will increase.
What have you been spending your money on?
The fact that you are reading this means you are someone whowants to live by doing what they love!
has something they love!I think you are that kind of person.
Just that alone, congratulations! ㊗️
Having something you love. That is the most important thing.
Well, there is another question of how many years you have been continuing it, though.
So, here is the main topic.
How much money have you spent on that[thing you love]?
If you don't know right away, try looking at your history
on online shops like AMAZON or Rakuten from 2-3 years ago to seewhat you bought!
The fact that you spent money to buy something means that
you had some dissatisfaction with your current life, and toresolve that
you bought something, andtried to realize a better future. That's what it is.
What did you buy?
For me, it is overwhelmingly PC-related goods, sheet music, and kimonos.
Things you bought to realize a better future = your assets
Books you bought but didn't read.
Goods you bought but didn't use.
Books that really moved you.
Clothes you came to love.
I think there are many things, but what kind of future were you seeking when you bought them?
And among those, isn't there anything you
don't really buy anymore?
You used to buy it in the past, but now you don't buy it anymore.
That means you either realized the future you were seeking, or you gave up on it.
Hasn't some kind of result come out of it?
Become someone who provides what your past self wanted
Among the many things I have bought in the past, there are [kimonos], so
let's use this as an example.
[Kimonos] are my hobby, but three years ago, I didn't know how to wear them, so I often bought kimono dressing books and kimono accessories.
However,now, I hardly buy any.
That is becauseI learned how to wear a kimono.
If I had seen an advertisement saying 'I will teach you how to wear a kimono' three years ago, I think I would have taken that lesson.
In fact, I took such a lesson once, but it didn't feel right, so I quit after one session.
After that, I had a chance encounter, met someone with the same body type as me, and they taught me how to dress, so I stopped buying kimono-related goods.
Now, did the teacher who taught me how to dresshave a qualification?
Well, you can tell from the flow of this story, right? Haha.
They did not have any qualifications.
Time has passed to the present.
Currently, I no longer purchase kimono goods. Since I became able to wear a kimono, I no longer need them.
Then, in turn,I want you to teach me how to wear a kimono!I started being told that.
The service I wanted three years ago is a service someone else still wants today.
Whether or not there is a[qualification]is irrelevant.
Posting on SNS will help someone
The service you wanted three years ago is a service someone else still wants today.
However,if you don't meet the people who want it, you cannot provide that service.
First, let's start posting on SNSaimed at the you from three years ago!
That should end up helping someone who is in trouble.
If you don't know what service you wanted three years ago yourself, please consult with me.
