Matsudo 'Midnight Sonic' - Yokan's 'Delusional' Rock Festival -
'If I can't go, I might as well just imagine that I did.'
I suddenly thought.

When I was single or dating my wife, I used to go to 'SUMMER SONIC' every year.
However, with two small children to look after, I worry, and the hurdle of 'going to a rock festival' like this has become quite high, so I haven't been able to go at all.
Even here on 'NOTE',
'I went to a concert or live show'
or
'I won tickets to a live show'
every time I see articles like that,
'I'm so envious'
is what I've felt.
So, this time.
As I wrote at the beginning,
'I will hold a rock festival in my brain'
is the decision I have made.
The venue will be my hometown, Matsudo. The location will be 'Mori no Hall 21'.
The theme is 'From midnight until dawn'.
Let's liven up this 'midwinter night' with six carefully selected songs from various genres!
Now, let's start'Matsudo Midnight Sonic'🎵

🎵'Silent Majority' (Keyakizaka46)
Serving as the opening act in spectacular fashion is the idol group Keyakizaka46.
Their debut song 'Silent Majority' was innovative and certainly made quite an impact, didn't it?
Even after that, they continued to market themselves with that 'unsmiling' and 'cool' image just like that song, but they were an interesting group where their only 'idol-like' single happened to be a masterpiece.
🎵'Night Train' (TWIGY)
Now, the night is deepening even further.
In the midst of this, appearing as our second act is Twigy, the 'rapper that rappers admire'.
While being a 'legendary rapper' who supported the 'dawn of Japanese rap', he continues to shine as a work in progress even now.
It's incredibly cool to be able to say 'I'm still learning hip-hop' from the position of a legend.
Hip-hop has gained a lot of civil rights now, but I would be happy if you knew that the 'love for rap' of such predecessors is the foundation of that.
The song I'm introducing is 'Night Train'. His unique way of taking rhythm based on 'reggae' is truly one of a kind.
Won't you all jump on the night train with me?🚂
🎵 'Nightswimming' (R.E.M.)
Next, from Western music.
It is one of the most beautiful songs I know, 'Nightswimming' by the American rock band R.E.M.
The 'powerful yet delicate' vocals of Michael Stipe and the piano melody played by Mike Mills are an exquisite match that will make the night even more flavorful.
🎵'Night Cruising' (Fishmans)
Fishmans.
With a 'mysterious' sound like the atmosphere created by frontman Shinji Sato, they captivated us music fans.
When this song would suddenly play in my head in the middle of the night, I felt like I was 'floating in the room'.
If he were still alive, what kind of songs would Sato have written?
Would you like to 'trip' too?
🎵 'Pyramid Song' (RADIOHEAD)
While doing all this, dawn is gradually approaching.
So, I would like to introduce the British rock band Radiohead.
Their songs are perfect for the 'image of the night'.
Among them, this 'Pyramid Song' is a deeply tasteful piece that feels like 'sinking deep, deep into the ground'.
It's a rather plain song without much inflection, but as you listen to it, you get drawn in more and more.
Won't you try 'falling into the night' too?
🎵'Dawn' (Hiroshi Fujiwara)
The streets of Matsudo have become gently brighter.
In the midst of this, the one who will decorate the finale of this festival is Hiroshi Fujiwara.
The song title is exactly 'Dawn'.
I have been in charge of the 'BGM' for several weddings, including my own, but
Hiroshi's songs were extremely well-received at every ceremony.
Please soak in the 'afterglow of the banquet' while bathing in the sunlight.

That's all, how was 'Matsudo Midnight Sonic'?
I felt like I could faintly see myself attending 'SUMMER SONIC' with my sons.
Well, that might just be a 'delusion' too 😆
