Wait, I'm just going higher and higher, aren't I? 😱

Oh, that was so incredibly scary.

It's about a dream I had last night (or rather, this morning).

Apparently, I was working as a secretary or something for a politician, and I had to take some documents he asked for to someone.

It was on the 15th floor of a high-rise building.

I finished my errand safely and thought, 'Mission accomplished,' so I got in the elevator to go down to the first floor.

But, I did that, however.

For some reason, I...

went up to the 16th floor!

'Huh!' I thought.

'Wait a minute,' I thought.

'I definitely pressed the button for the first floor, didn't I?' I thought.

I pulled myself together and got back on the elevator.

And I made sure to confirm that I was pressing the '1st floor' button.

I confirmed it, but...

For some reason, I...

went up to the 17th floor!

'No, no, no, no,' I thought.

'Hey, hey, hey, hey, wait a second 💦,' I thought.

'I checked the floor indicator in the elevator just to be sure, but this building probably only has 18 floors,' I thought.

At this point, I became terrified all at once.

I thought, 'Wait, wait, wait.'

If I fail the challenge one more time, I'll be on the 18th floor, and if I fail again, will I be on the roof? Wait, there's no elevator. Am I going to crash through the wall and die?

I desperately wandered around the 17th floor looking for someone, but I couldn't find a single soul.

I thought, 'I guess I have no choice but to go to the 18th floor. 💦'

I steeled myself, got into the elevator for the third time, and firmly pressed the '1st floor' button.

As expected.

There I was, on the top floor, the 18th floor.

I said, 'Are you kidding me?'

Pinning my last hopes on it, I desperately wandered around the 18th floor and found a hall.

I could hear voices coming from inside.

I did a little dance, thinking 'Yes!', and opened the hall door. Inside, it seemed like a lecture was taking place; someone was speaking at the back, and a large crowd was sitting on folding chairs listening.

I had no shame left, so I grabbed a woman sitting in the very back row and explained the situation to her.

Then, she said,

'Only the red elevator goes to the 1st floor, so please use this remote to go down and return it to the front desk on the 1st floor.'

She calmly handed me the remote.

I thought,

'I'm pretty sure both elevators were white, though?'

Even so, I thanked her, took the remote, and ran to the elevator.

When I returned, one of the two elevators had indeed turned red.

I didn't have time to ask 'Why?', so I pressed the button on the remote, and the elevator came up and arrived at the 18th floor.

Thank goodness.

I quickly got on it and headed for the long-awaited first floor.

Before long, the elevator arrived at the first floor.

However...

The moment the doors opened, it tried to close them again in the blink of an eye at quite a speed!

Wait, wait, wait!

I jumped out of the elevator at full speed and managed to successfully escape from the 'Wait, I'm just going higher and higher' hell.

Seriously, what was that all about?

I woke up in a cold sweat and went to report it to Mom in the next room where she was sleeping. She happened to be awake, so she patted me like a 'good boy,' and after that, I was able to sleep soundly.

I wonder what this would be like according to 'dream analysis'.

Well, I suspect that rather than a 'nightmare,' the main causes were 'lack of sleep' and 'not drinking enough water before bed,' compounded by 'minor sleep paralysis' triggered by the 'cramped sleeping space' caused by my sons' acrobatic sleeping positions.

I rarely have dreams, and for it to be this one when I finally did, I'm defeated.

Tomorrow is my day off from work.

I'll make sure to drink plenty of water before bed today, and I plan to rest slowly with my second son tomorrow.
