【Owner's Total Victory】 Don't be fooled by the 'They ran that way' gaze! A story of outsmarting cats in their psychological warfare
It all started with a 'crash!' echoing through the room. Someone had climbed onto the shelf and pulled off the classic cat prank of knocking something over.
When I called out, 'Hey!', the culprit scurried off to the next room. I followed right after.
What I found there was a truly strange and 'unnatural' sight.
The 'perfect decoy operation' waiting for me where I chased the suspect
When I entered the room, three cats were packed tightly together in a cat bed.

They were lined up in a row, all staring intently in the same 'leftward direction'.
Their straight gazes seemed to speak without words, as if saying:
'They ran off that way.'
'They just hid over to the left.'
An ordinary owner might think, 'I see, they must be hiding behind the furniture on the left or in the gap in the curtains,' and search where they were looking.
But I won't be fooled. It's just too suspicious that all three of them would be frozen looking in the exact same direction at this moment.
'This is a decoy to make me look to the left...'
In this battle of wits with the cats, I didn't move an inch and decided to carefully observe the 'oddity' of the situation. I was going to outsmart them.
Game over. The culprit was right there
Ignoring the cats' dramatic performance (?), I peered closely at the bed from above.
Then, instead of looking where they were staring, I discovered some 'unhidden fluff' right behind the three cats in front!

The culprit is hiding right behind them!!!
It turns out that Chamal, who had run away after the prank, had pretended to run to the left and instead curled up in the gap behind the bed. The three in front were 'accomplices' trying to distract me to protect the culprit.
The look on Chamal's face the moment he was found—as if to say, 'Tch, you didn't fall for it...'—a slightly dissatisfied yet clever smug look, was just the best.
It is my total victory!
Verdict: Everyone together, sentenced to that punishment
The cats tried to set me up, but their decoy operation failed miserably in the face of my observational skills.
And so, I caught them all red-handed on the spot! The culprit who ran away and the three who cooperated with such impressive acting skills were all sentenced tothe "ruffle-ruffle punishment"together.
They made a huge fuss, meowing things like "But we were hiding!" and "Operation failed!", but in the end, they were all ruffled and petted, and somehow they seemed happy, purring away.
With my cats pulling off such brilliant teamwork, I wonder what kind of strategy they will use to challenge me next? I'll be ready to take them on and look forward to our next battle of wits!
