Noah's Ark #Aobura Literature Club

When I read the story of Noah's Ark from the Old Testament, I find myself thinking about those who couldn't get on board.
The chosen pairs of animals. And among the humans, those who watched Noah and his family, thinking it was all ridiculous.

But I wonder if there were shadows watching the ark from afar before the great door closed.

The Bible tells the story matter-of-factly, speaking only of the flood occurring and eventually receding.
Yet, between the lines, it feels as though many unwritten emotions have fallen.

Noah's family must have been truly anxious as well.
There might have been a moment when they looked up at the sky and wondered, 'Will we really be saved?'
The animals, too, must have spent sleepless nights listening to the sound of the rain.

The scene with the rainbow is beautiful, but when Noah set foot on the ground,
perhaps what filled his heart first was not a blessing, but the relief that 'it is finally over.'

Behind the story, nameless emotions lie quietly.
When you touch upon them, a story from long ago becomes just a little more relatable.
