[Moving to the Netherlands] Which "ticket" will I use to cross the sea? The answer I, at 31, arrived at.

[1. There are actually many gateways to immigration]

There is more than one way to get to the Netherlands.
When you think, "I want to live abroad," here are four representative methods that are possible. I hope this will be helpful for those considering moving.
① Working Holiday
➡ The ultimate ticket that lets you work and travel freely.

② WWOOF
➡ Working on a farm in exchange for "room and board."

③ Au Pair
➡ Living with a local family and supporting them with childcare.

④ Sole Proprietor (Entrepreneur) Visa
➡ The path of "independence" where you move with your own business.

[2. For me, the most familiar option was the "Working Holiday"]

Actually, I have in my 20s,
studied language in Australia, and
spent a year in Canada on a working holiday,
so I have that experience.

The joy of being understood when speaking the language, and the stimulating days of being immersed in a different culture.
Because I know both the hardships and the joys of living abroad, the "Working Holiday" option was the first thing that came to mind this time as well.

But, I am now 31 years old.
I have just passed the "up to 30" age limit for a working holiday by one year.
And, as a matter of fact, you cannot go on a working holiday with children.

[3. The "next stage" I chose because of my experience]

Because I have had enough experience "working for others" in Australia and Canada, I realized that my destiny is to take a step further and challenge myself to "create my own work" in the Netherlands.

• Having a 3-year-old son: Rather than WWOOF where lodging is provided, I want to build a foundation where we can have our own home and settle down.

• Wanting to spread Chiran tea: I want to deliver it with responsibility as my own business, not as someone's assistant.

When I thought about it that way, the one that felt most like "this is it!" for me was the sole proprietor visa.

[4. Conclusion: The "ticket" that suits you]

If you are single, seeing the world through WWOOF is great, and if you are in your 20s, I want you to go on a working holiday without hesitation. Which one is the right answer depends on what that person values and how old they are.

As a 31-year-old single mother, I chose this steep but free path of an "entrepreneur." It might look like I'm on the edge, but I will design a future with my son using my own skills (design) and the local treasure (tea).
