Wajima-nuri lacquerware recommended for cat lovers
This is a Wajima-nuri sake cup called the "Crescent Moon Cat."
While the patterns are created using traditional Wajima-nuri techniques such as maki-e and raden (mother-of-pearl inlay), it has been finished in a pop and cute style. The sparkling, colorful mother-of-pearl crescent moon serves as an accent.
Because it is slightly slimmer and taller than a standard sake cup, it can be used not only for sake but also for drinking tea or coffee, or even for serving desserts.
Wajima-nuri is a poor conductor of heat, so the outside does not get hot when you pour in warm tea or coffee, and it is less likely to form condensation when you put in cold desserts, making it very convenient to use.
We also introduced this vessel in the episode of our YouTube channel, "TAYA-chan!", where Grandma and I enjoyed coffee using Wajima-nuri.
Whether you are enjoying coffee, dessert, or a drink, I hope you can relax with this cute cat sake cup!
