Let's Do Radio Calisthenics on TV
At 6:30 in the morning, Radio Calisthenics begins on TV.
I often think that this expression must be unique to Japan. If you said this to anyone other than a Japanese person, it would surely be misunderstood. They would say that what is on TV is TV Calisthenics, not Radio Calisthenics.
Now, regarding this TV version of Radio Calisthenics, there used to be five women who served as the models. At some point, men started to be included. Recently, there are even times when there are more men.
The background has also changed. It used to be more inorganic. You forget when you watch it every day, but the program gradually changes as well.
In the midst of all this, I noticed something that does not change: the choreography of the exercises. This is not about how it is Radio Calisthenics, so it is natural for the choreography to be the same.
Let's look at a typical summer vacation Radio Calisthenics venue. Everyone is doing the same Radio Calisthenics, but the fine timing, the angle of the hands, and the way they use their bodies are usually all different.
But the exercise instructors are different. They are the same. The position of the hands when creating a pause, the position of the arms between movements, and the orientation of the body are all unified.
They are like professional dancers. It is difficult to even try to imitate them. They must have undergone special training. I suppose that is necessary to appear on the prestigious NHK.
There must be an instructor who says,
"Your arm swing is three degrees short!"
"Don't watch the movements around you with your eyes! Feel them in time with the rhythm!"
That's what they say.
Now that I imagine it, I want to join in too. I want to master perfectly synchronized radio calisthenics. It's Instructor's Radio Calisthenics Camp. Instructor! Where will the camp be held?
Finally, I would like to inform you that the second set of radio calisthenics is the mainstream version on TV.
