Days when the rice cooker just can't keep up

Recently, the amount my kids eat has increased 💦
Actually, I have a thing for compactness. It's just my personality.
I'm convinced that smaller things look smarter, so my rice cooker is a 3-cup model. My refrigerator is the same one for 2-3 people that I've used since I got married.
It might seem obvious, but it's easier to keep track of everything when things are smaller.
I feel like I wouldn't be able to survive if I didn't know exactly what was inside my fridge 🤣

Anyway, since the kids are eating more, and I make giant rice balls 🍙 during the weeks my husband works day shifts, we've reached a point where 3 cups just isn't enough... 💦

However, getting a bigger rice cooker is... absolutely‼️ something I don't want to do 🤢 No matter what.

Besides, aren't rice cookers super expensive these days??
They're expensive, but the quality of the rice drops after a few years, right!? I just can't bring myself to buy one knowing that... I really feel like rice cookers are just consumables.

So, when I cook rice in a Staub pot 🫕, it really is delicious!!
It's delicious, but it's so heavy!!
It becomes a little source of daily stress...

I'm sure it will be useful in a disaster, so I have two on standby.

Also, maybe it's the heat conductivity, but water boils instantly 🔜, and it's strange how it doesn't boil over even when cooking pasta...

However, since it doesn't have a timer function, I still have to rely on the rice cooker sometimes...

Please try cooking rice in a pot just once.
I think you'll start questioning your rice cooker too 🤣
