🌞 The chance seized by taking turns—My son's seriousness shown in a 'match he wouldn't play in'
Today is another topic about my son's soccer.⚽
No... I just wanted to brag a little, so I wrote this. Haha
But, as a doting parent—
I really wanted to record what happened on this day.☺️
🌱 Today's match, which started from the bench
Yesterday, my son missed his match due to feeling unwell.
Today he recovered safely,
and we headed to the soccer venue.
In the car, my son said this:
“I might not get to play in the match,
but there might be a chance,
so please watch the match properly.”
In those words, I felt something like
a quiet resolve.
But as expected, he wasn't chosen for the starting lineup—
On the bench, while glancing at the younger players,
there he was, diligently fulfilling his role as a supporter.
I watched over his back quietly.
⚽ The 'turn' that suddenly came around
Partway through the first half of the first match, my son was called by the coach.
“Huh? Could it be... am I going to get to play?”
Actually, a player had to be substituted due to feeling unwell during the match,
and instead, my son ended up standing on the pitch.
His warm-up movements
were full of life—
from his back,
“I will give my all in this moment”
that kind of determination was quietly conveyed.
⚡ The 'seriousness' he showed me
Once the match started,
there was my son,
running around as if clinging to the ball.
“This was supposed to be a match I wouldn't play in.”
“But since I'm in, I'm going to do it.”
His movements were overflowing with that kind of spirit.
And then—
In front of the goal,
he reacted quickly to the ball deflected by the keeper,
and my son shot!
Goal!!!
Without thinking, I clapped hands with the other mothers,
and we rejoiced.
Seeing my son on the pitch,
hugging his teammates in celebration,
my heart was full.
🕊 Chances reach those who were prepared
I thought today would be a 'match with no turn' for him.
But my son hadn't given up until the very end.
Because he had that feeling—
I think that is why he was able to
firmly seize that moment.
Serious feelings,
they really do reach someone.
Through my son's play, I was taught that once again.
