Powerful sound is born from quiet and deep trust

Hello. This is Aki.

I sometimes hear stories about musicians who have departed for the sky.

Last time, it was about X JAPAN guitarist and rock artist hide, and LUNA SEA drummer Shinya (↓)

Being unfamiliar with rock, I had always thought that the intense sound of a band
“is born from the clashing of strong personalities.”
I assumed that loud sounds and flashy performances on stage were the result of conflicts or assertions between members.

However, after encountering stories about hide, as well as Shinya, Maiko Tsuno of 'Akai Ko-en', and HEATH and TAIJI of 'X JAPAN', that idea was completely overturned.

A powerful sound is built upon quiet and deep trust, isn't it?

In the first place...

By each member playing their own part, a single work is steadily and surely woven together.
Behind the harmony they create, not only technique but also communication between members and a trust that is conveyed without words are firmly rooted.

The sound created by members standing side-by-side is one where the struggles leading up to that point are not left as struggles, but are dissolved into the sound and transformed into passion.

Because that process exists, the one-of-a-kind songs released by a band are not just intense; they possess strength and warmth, are filled with radiance, and reach our hearts directly.

Rock was created not from

clashing but from overlapping.When I realized that complete opposite, the conviction that 'this might be what a real team is!' spread through my chest, and my perception of rock bands changed all at once.In our own lives, when we create something with someone, we are also accumulating invisible ingenuity, effort, and quiet dialogue, just like a band.

Musicians who have resonated rock on the front lines for many years reminded me of such things that seem obvious but are easily forgotten.
I feel like a small light has been lit within me as well.
