Reflecting on January 8, 2023

Entering 2023, my posting frequency on note has dropped. While I don't post every single day, as someone who usually posts almost daily, I can only lament my lack of effort. I have already taken three days off from posting in January. I don't intend to push myself too hard, but I am thinking about trying to pick up the pace of my posts a little.

Since I am just posting about my daily life rather than specializing in creative writing, recipes, or photography, I never run out of things to write about. However, when I get busy with errands, my posting rhythm gets thrown off, or I get tired and prioritize 'rest'.

For that reason, I took a break from posting on January 8th due to a 'disrupted rhythm' and 'prioritizing rest,' but I decided to reflect a bit and post a record of it.

My daughter, who is a senior in college, came home to visit and contacted me saying, 'Let's meet up.' She also asked, 'Is there anywhere you want to go?' When I replied, 'Maybe a drive would be nice,' for some reason she requested 'Kegon Falls,' so we went sightseeing together. I even uploaded a short video on Twitter.

So, when it came time to have lunch, we chose a restaurant near Nikko Toshogu Shrine called 'Meiji-no-Yakata'.

I visited because my older sister recommended it as a historic Western-style restaurant. It also helps that my daughter 'loves omurice'.

Wow, it was exquisite.

It was very crowded, and it ended up being about a two-hour wait from the time we arrived just after 1:00 PM until we were seated, but it was worth the wait. Besides this, we also had beef stew and baked cheesecake, and everything was absolutely delicious.

Those who have read my posts a few times know that it is rare for me to talk about 'food and photos.' Usually, I restrain myself by saying,
'I don't want to talk about whether something is delicious or not'
'I don't want to take pictures of the food served to me'
but it was so delicious that it blew away those little constraints of mine.

It was the most delicious omurice in my 53 years of life.

By the way, my sister who recommended the restaurant said that when she visited, it was 'temporarily closed for renovations,' so she couldn't eat anything.
'I want my sister to try this too'
I thought, so I bought some 'takeout' omurice.

Since it's important, I'll repeat it one more time,

It was the most delicious omurice in my 53 years of life.

Before my life ends, I would like to try other items on the menu next time.

However, since I usually eat alone and only pay 1,000 to 2,000 yen for a meal, I was a little surprised when paying for two people's meals + drinks + dessert + souvenirs (for two).
But I have no regrets. I was very satisfied.
