[Creative Awards] Robust Squadron Glasses Ranger (Episode 9)
9 Farewell, Cutie
(Narration)
[The Glasses Rangers have defeated the Demon Monster! Our Glasses Rangers are so strong!]
Despite having defeated the powerful Demon Monster thanks to the power of their new finishing move, Cutie looked downcast and hung her head slightly. Pink called out to Cutie with a smile.
"What's wrong, Cutie? That new pair of glasses really suits you."
Cutie muttered while still looking down.
"How long, how long is this fighting going to continue? No matter how many we defeat, new enemies, even stronger ones, just keep appearing. It never ends.
At first, it was just a byte, then it became a kilobyte, then a mega, and now it's a giga. What's next? Tera? Peta? I'm tired. I want to go back to being just a byte. No, I don't even want to be a byte; I want to stay home and do piecework. I don't want to be a Glasses Ranger or Cutie Devil anymore; I just want to live as an ordinary woman."
SLAP!
A sound tore through the air, and Cutie's body flew to the side. The power of Pink's slap is truly fearsome.
"You coward, Cutie. If we stop fighting, what will happen to the peace of our vision, of our world? What are you thinking?"
"I care more about a quiet, warm home than world peace. I don't want to be a hero who saves the world; I want to be a normal mother."
"By continuing to fight, our sponsor's products sell, and the economy circulates. There are people who make the products and people who sell them, and their livelihoods depend on it. An economically stable life leads to peace. What do you intend to do about those people? Piecework alone has a small economic ripple effect."
Pink pleaded in a pained voice. However, Cutie quietly shook her head from side to side.
"From now on, I'll wear contacts and spend my time quietly alone. I'm fed up with this. You all can go find another enemy and keep fighting."
Tears overflowed from Cutie's eyes.
Cutie took off her glasses, handed them to Red, turned her back on the four of them, and started walking away.
(Narration)
[Don't cry, Cutie. Farewell, Cutie.
What will become of Cutie, the Glasses Rangers, and the future of our vision and our world? Cutie has taken off her glasses; her vision is poor and her future is uncertain. But, more than anything, there is something that must be resolved.
Cutie, you can't drive a car without glasses. How do you intend to get home? Your driver's license should have 'Glasses, etc.' written under the conditions section.]
