[Weekly Short-Short Note] "Why don't you try writing a short-short?" Theme Announcement! 9/24

This is an article for a project that loosely invites short-short submissions every week. If you are new here, I would appreciate it if you could read this first.

So, this is a project where we use the [Short-Short Note] card game to decide on a theme and have volunteers write short-shorts.

Although COVID has made a comeback, we are doing a simplified version until the end of September due to the Botchan Award and other things!

Thank you for your submissions for the previous themes: 'curse's stench', 'easy', and 'wedge'! The header images were so varied that they were a treat to look at as well.

I have compiled the curses that would make everyone's nose curl here!

Taraha Selection

Now, this week's Taraha Selection.

The theme is 'Cafe 4 minutes 33 seconds'!
(Although I am only introducing a few here, there were many particularly good works, so please take a look at various ones!)

First up is Toto-san!

I really love this worldview. The aroma of coffee spread through my brain.

And Hiiro-san!

Did you really write this in 4 minutes and 33 seconds in an RTA (Real Time Attack)?! That's amazing...

Finally, Heita-san!

You might all be going to read Heita-san's work without me introducing it, but I had to introduce this one.

The secret theme is 'Parfait Hum-Hum 33 seconds'!

I'm sure the weekly short-short noters scattered across the country screamed, 'What is Hum-Hum?!' I even thought to myself, 'What on earth is that?' Even so, there were some wonderful works!

First is Tsukinomiya-san!

The fact that you managed to pull this together into a solid horror piece even with this crazy theme is truly impressive!

Next is Tatsukichi-san!

I laughed at the "Wait, that's it?!" reaction, and the ending was so stylish! It was fun.

You might be full since I've introduced so many already, but...
amanatz-san!

It was a piece that really showcased amanatz-san's unique style. I managed to finish it all!

Many other wonderful pieces were submitted as well! Thank you very much!

So, what is this week's theme?!

It's "as much as possible," so I won't force it, but please try your best. For those of you who hate such half-hearted things, here is this:

Furthermore, this project basically adopts Masatomo Tamaru-sensei's method. Rather than a piece containing the two separate words "as much as possible" and "zoo," I recommend a story about "as much of a zoo as possible"—meaning, as much of a zoo as one can manage. Please, open your own "as much of a zoo as possible" in your creative worlds! Well then, I look forward to your work this week as well!
