My 3-year-old son has a diagnosis of
ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), as well as traits of
ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and DCD (Developmental Coordination Disorder).
It truly is a roller coaster of parenting where every day is unpredictable!
Today, I'd like to talk about the "light" I found along this bumpy road, and the "tools of civilization (AI)" that I've been obsessed with lately.
June 2025, the unexpected "few points away"
June 2025. That day I took the developmental test, convinced after his 3-year-old checkup that "I have no choice but to borrow the power of a professional!"
When he was diagnosed with ASD in July, it was within my expectations, thinking, "Yeah, I thought so."
But what shocked me was the physical aspect.
I was stunned when I saw the numbers. They were significantly below the standard, and he was on the line of being just a few points away from...
The reality that "hyperactivity" does not equal "good athletic ability"
My child also has ADHD tendencies, so he moves around constantly.
He loves playing outside! He never sits still!
That's why I just assumed, "He must have strong muscles and be good at sports."
But I was wrong.
"Moving around a lot" and "being able to exercise (controlling one's body)" were completely different issues.
Underdeveloped muscles, and limbs that didn't know how to move because no one had taught them.
When I realized that, I mentally prostrated myself, thinking, "I'm sorry, son, Mommy didn't know...!"
The twists and turns of home rehabilitation, start!
So, before we even decided on a developmental support center, we managed to get into "
home rehabilitation".
This turned out to be the best start for our family.
…or so I'd like to say, but reality isn't that sweet (lol).
At first, things were great!
(He was super excited about the new teacher)
Entering a slump period
(The "I don't want to do it" phase kicked in)
After many twists and turns, now...
(He's having a blast!)
There were ups and downs, but I'm so glad we kept at it.
Recently, we've also been addressing the related "clumsiness with hands" and physical exercise aspects.
Watching him gradually increase his "I did it!" moments is truly like the feeling of a fan watching their idol grow.
A savior for a lazy mom! NotebookLM
The progress of the intense home rehabilitation that started in September.
Looking back, there were so many things that happened...
I'll be honest.
💭 I can't remember it all!! (rolling eyes)
I was writing records on note, but I'm starting to forget things too.
That's when I turned to the now-trending AI tool, NotebookLM!
This is truly amazing.
My past articles turned into slides,
flashing before my eyes like a montage...
I just kept copy-pasting articles,
and it was all organized in about 5 to 10 minutes!
I'm hooked on this.
I might do this every month from now on.
Please take a look at the trajectory of our home rehabilitation journey👇

Ah, I remember working on this...
We had this happen, didn't we? (crying)
Oh, there's something I'm not doing anymore (panicked)
A 'small step' you can take starting today
If there is a mom out there right now who is worried about her child's development, I want to tell you this.
It's okay not to think, 'I have to do everything perfectly.'
First, just finding one thing like, 'My child was so cute doing this today,' is a great first step in therapy.
Whether it's rehabilitation or AI, use all the convenient tools available,
and let's move forward together while laughing!
Having it summarized in slides like this
also leads to new realizations.
(As someone with low working memory, this helps me remember)
I think using NotebookLM for personal use is also a great idea🫡
💬 A quick question at the end!
In your parenting journey, have you ever had a moment where you were shocked and thought, "This isn't what I expected!!" (lol)
The top "not what I expected" moment in our house was
the physical/exercise aspect!
Please let me know in the comments!
Even just a "me too!" of empathy would make me cry with joy!
