Are your note articles becoming too stiff?
Hello!
I'm Tanamiri,
a working mom who supports note monetization.
💬 When I try to write properly, my writing somehow becomes stiff.
💬 My articles feel a bit distant.
💬 The more I write, the more it sounds like an instruction manual.
“I have to write a proper article!”
When I reread articles I wrote with that kind of determination,
they feel
somehow distant and cold.
Like a company email.
Don't you ever feel that way?
For those people, this time
I will share some tips for writing note articles!
◽️ “I have to write properly” makes
your writing stiff
The more serious and hardworking you are,
the more you tense up thinking,
“I have to write a proper article,”
“I have to write it correctly,”
“I don't want to be rude...”
and your writing tends to become stiff.
I really understand that feeling.
But here is the point.
Your readers
are not looking fordignified and perfect writing.
In fact, stiff and formal writing
creates a wall
between you and the reader.
◽️ People unconsciously trust
“things that are easy to read”
Here is a famous psychological concept.
There is a term called
“processing fluency.”
It is a concept known from Daniel Kahneman's “Thinking, Fast and Slow”
and other works,
and to put it simply, it is this:
People find things that are easy to read
to be likable and trustworthy.
Conversely,
writing that makes the reader's brain tired
will be quietly closed
with thoughts like “this is difficult” or “reading this is tiring,”
even if the content is good.
Even in school, when writing almost the same thing,
your evaluation would differ
depending on whether your handwriting was neat or messy.
It's similar to that.
In the digital world,
differences due to handwriting don't appear,
but they show up clearly in the writing itself.
• Too many kanji and sentences that are unnecessarily long
• Many difficult words and stiff phrasing
• Explanatory and lacking emotion
It is actually common that writing you made polite
thinking it would be good
was actually pushing readers away.
◽️ What kind of writing is
approachable?
This is not about difficult techniques.
The biggest tip is,
to write as if you are talking
to one friend right in front of you.
For example, it's like this.
• "Regarding ~, it is as follows" → "~ is actually like this"
• Don't pack it with kanji; mix in some hiragana
• Instead of perfect honorifics, occasionally include your real thoughts or musings
None of these are really techniques; it's just about relaxing.
To put it another way, just write sloppily.
The more you take off the "armor" you put on to try and look proper, the closer you will get to your readers.
By the way,
the text you are reading right now,
is intentionally written to be informal.
(I'm writing a bit more casually than usual)
Don't you feel like you can read it to the end?
This kind of feel is just fine.
Because most people don't want to read stiff, work-like text
outside of work.
◽️ Rather than skillful writing, "relatable" writing
This time,
I talked about how friendly writing gets read more than stiff writing.
What you should aim for
is not perfect writing that makes you look smart,
but relatable writing that makes people think,
"I kind of like this person's writing."
My personal tip is, quite simply,
to write sloppily.
If you don't have the momentum to write sloppily,
it ends up being quite formal.
It takes courage at first, though, to write sloppily.
Please try it out boldly,
and by all means, compare the reactions!
If you want to try it,
try reading the text you wrote out loud once.
Any parts that feel unnatural while reading
are signs that it's too stiff.
Try changing those parts
into the words you would use when talking to a friend.
Just by doing that, your writing will become much warmer!

Here is the background on why I share this information.
I also introduce key points for monetizing note.
And,
if you are thinking,
"I want to create income outside of my company,"
the first step doesn't have to be perfect either.
You don't have to try to write well.
Just use your own words,
and start small.
I was the same at first.
I started with one clumsy post,
and now I've reached the point where I can share like this.
"I want to create income outside of my company"
I want to fully support the small "first step"
of people who are struggling just like I was back then.
With that in mind,
I am delivering a step-by-step guide on how to start with 0 followers and just a smartphone.
For those who register,
I am also giving away a free bonus to help you take that first step.
