[Call for Participation] Chofu Creature Investigation! Part 1: "Wild Mammals" Edition
To protect Chofu City's rich natural environment and pass it on to the future, we are calling for information on "creatures" found in familiar places within the city.
The photos and discovery data you provide will be used to create the "Chofu City Biological Map," which records the city's natural environment.
With that said, we are calling for information on mammals within Chofu City.
Whether it is a raccoon dog, fox, or badger, which appear in folklore and have likely lived near us for a long time, or more recently, invasive species that often become a problem like raccoons or masked palm civets, any mammal seen within the city is welcome. (However, please exclude pets.)
Even if you don't have a photo of the creature, information saying "I saw this creature!" is fine. Even if you took a photo but aren't sure what kind of creature it is, that information is also fine. Please feel free to send us your information.
(Caution) This is not intended to encourage contact with mammals. Even if you see a wild mammal, please be sure to observe it from a distance and do not touch it directly. Some cases may carry zoonotic diseases (infectious diseases common to humans and animals).
Please send information about mammals via the submission form or email address.
We look forward to hearing from you!
