Logical People

This week's topic for the 26th 'Amano Writing Club' is 'Logical People'.

◆Logical People <Short Short> (506 characters)

In this day and age, there is a high demand for solo activities.
Many people enjoy being alone, such as solo travel, solo hot springs, solo dining, solo cafes, solo karaoke,
and solo yakiniku.

People who are always with someone and never do anything alone
often say things to those who enjoy being alone, like 'that's lonely,' 'don't you have any friends,' or
'don't you have anyone to invite,' implying that being alone is wrong.
It's a forced association that being alone equals being lonely.

In modern times, divorce rates are high and the number of single people is increasing.
I wonder if those who speak ill of people who are not married or cannot get married
are actually dissatisfied with their own married lives.

The Showa era, where marriage was the absolute truth, is over.
Those who want to get married should do so.
Those who want to remain single should remain single.
It's not a matter of which is better.
It is a matter of individual freedom of choice.

What is the basis for saying that being alone is lonely?
Can't people speak more logically?

People who enjoy being alone are not 'lonely people'.
They are 'ethical people'.
They think ethically and choose to be alone.

Being alone is freedom.
No one has the right to complain about it.
People who can be alone are strong.

Perhaps those who cannot do anything unless they are always with someone
are the real 'lonely people'.

Those who enjoy solo activities are not 'lonely people'.
They are 'logical people'.
They are choosing to be alone, ethically.

◆Afterword (Editor's Note)

This week's topic was the most difficult one yet.
When I saw the title, I thought, 'This might be impossible this time. Maybe I should pass.'
'The Cream Puff Love from the 1st session'I have continued every week since, but
I wondered if doing it out of habit was bad, or if I should write it because I've been doing it every week until now.

However, I can imagine myself not writing the next one if I break the streak once.
It's not mandatory, and doing it out of habit isn't good either.
With that thought, while I was walking and thinking about what 'Logical People' could mean, an idea suddenly came to me.

'Lonely Chaplin' crossed my mind.

When I thought about whether I could connect it to that,
'Lonely People' came to mind.
That's it, I'll write it by playing on the word 'alone'!
And that's how I wrote it.

I was able to write it enjoyably by using my full imagination.
I hope you enjoy the world of fantasy and fiction.
