Seven Falls, Finally Rising 《Short-Short》
This is takewoody.
This week's theme for the 17th Amano Writing Club is "Seven Falls, Finally Rising"
#AmanoWritingClub #AmanoMitsuruProject
#ShortShort #SevenFallsFinallyRising
Can I write one this time too? I'll put my brain into full gear and write whatever comes to mind.
Well then, here is a short-short I made on the spot.
◆Seven Falls, Finally Rising 《Short-Short》 (1,495 characters)
Note is a cycle of failing, learning, improving, and trying again.
It is truly a case of falling seven times and rising eight.
In anything, in any world, continuing is surprisingly difficult.
In the end, the only reason you get back up no matter how many times you fall is because you have the
desire to keep going even after failing.
Giving up easily is a sign that you didn't really want to do it that much in the first place.
That is why I will stand up again and again.
First fall: Started Note
I created an account, but I didn't know what to do.
I tried to figure out what to write on Note, but
I don't know what I should write, the first fall
Second fall: Tried reading other people's Notes
Business-related, self-esteem-related, book-related, travel-related, Note monetization-related.
Everyone is amazing. The second fall of feeling down after seeing others shine
Third fall: Tried writing a diary for now
I tried writing about my daily activities on Note for the time being.
It felt like elementary school summer homework. It wasn't read at all and had few likes.
I was shown the difference between this and social media where I have friends.
Others aren't interested in me, or rather, there's no way they'd be interested in someone else's diary.
Realize it quickly, the third fall of being yourself
Fourth fall: Decided on a theme and posted daily, but suffered from a need for approval
I decided on themes and committed to posting book reviews,
thought pieces, and self-improvement articles every day.
Having a theme for my Note meant building my own core.
I got a fair amount of likes and comments, and my followers increased.
Before I knew it, there were times I was writing just to get likes and comments.
Should I write what I want to write, or what is needed?
The fourth fall of suffering from a need for approval
Fifth fall: Want to write paid articles but don't know how
Continuing to write only free articles might just be self-satisfaction
to fulfill a need for approval. If it takes time to write, it's a waste of time.
On Note, anyone can sell paid articles.
In that case, it's worth a shot to try writing and selling a paid article.
However, the fifth fall of not knowing what a Note amateur like me should write for a fee
Sixth fall: Tried buying and reading paid articles and paid magazines
If I'm going to write paid articles, I can't start without reading them first.
I bought and read paid articles by creators I was interested in one after another.
There were some I thought were high quality,
and some discoveries where I thought, 'They can charge for this?'
It's interesting that there are some paid articles like this that sell so well,
and others that are so good but don't sell at all.
There is no right answer anywhere.
The sixth fall of having no confidence in writing paid articles that sell
Seventh fall: Tried doing paid articles, paid magazines, and memberships
After reading tons of paid articles, I felt like I could see the world of Note better.
Indeed, the world where you only read free content is narrow.
Paid articles are a treasure trove of learning, discovery, ideas, and stimulation.
I also tried doing paid articles, paid magazines, and memberships.
Sometimes they sell, sometimes they don't; there are waves depending on the time and timing.
The seventh fall of realizing that continuing to sell is harder than just selling
I've spent time doing various things.
After falling seven times, I'm exhausted.
But I won't give up.
That's because I love Note.
Finally rising: Staying in the future of Note
I think what many people who continue Note for a long time have in common
is daily posting and selling paid articles.
Of course, there are people who don't post daily,
and people who only write free articles who have continued for a long time, but they are in the minority.
If you have your own paid articles, the thoughts you put into them are added,
and I think it becomes even easier to continue Note.
Staying in the future of Note might be
making the most of the Note platform,
taking the disappointing things in stride, riding the waves of change,
and continuing to enjoy it.
If you fall, you just have to get back up again.
Seven falls, finally rising.
The End
◆Afterword
What I thought about with this theme was Note and work.
Since it was a good opportunity, I arranged the scenes I see on Note
and my own experiences a little.
How do you build momentum from the start on Note?
It's easy to start, but you need ingenuity to keep going.
Thank you for reading until the end.
See you again.
◆takewoody's 【Short-Short Stories】
I have created a magazine for all the short-short stories I have written in the past.
There are now 22 works. I would be happy if you could read these works as well.
