[Bungaku Flea Tokyo 42] I will be bringing a new essay collection in paperback size!

From the coldest time of winter to early spring, I have been writing essays bit by bit, like kneading bread or adding rows to a knitting project, and I will be bringing a ZINE that gathers them all together.

I will be participating as an exhibitor at Bungaku Flea Tokyo 42 on May 4th.
I will have a booth at [Te-27/28] on the day, so I would be happy if you could come by for a chat, feeling as relaxed as if you were meeting a distant acquaintance. In these times of uncertainty, I hope we can cherish the fact that we can meet now.

◎New Book: "Folded Time"

I wrote 10 essays on the theme of "time." It is an attempt to re-weave my favorite times, ways of spending time slowly, and connections with people I have yet to meet, using imagination. In a world that can be heartbreaking, I wanted to choose altruism if possible, and bring along a feeling like placing a hand on someone's back before they fall asleep. If we, as nameless individuals, could step out of our circular icons and shift our coordinates from strangers to fictional relatives, even just a little. The essays I wrote while thinking about such things are packed inside.

I will show you a glimpse of a sample from the text.

For this binding, I have dressed it up with a belly band so you can feel the texture. I really like the Arabell cover, which has a texture like drawing paper, and the white print on kraft paper for the belly band. There is also an illustration under the belly band, and I have secretly put my current feelings into it, so I would be happy if you could take a peek.

◎Previous Book: "My Care Journal"

This is an essay collection that weaves in personal stories along with 50 coping (self-care) methods. It is also full of illustrations. It is a book that has been very well received for its cute paper. You can try the gentle self-care methods introduced as they are, or come up with your own original ones. It is a book for creating your own personal amulet to help you get through shaky days.

This book has been very well received and is now in its 3rd printing with 1000 copies. I have changed the binding slightly with each printing. The theme for the 3rd printing is bold pink. I was able to achieve the ideal color by double-printing the cover with fluorescent ink. It looks like it will be sold out soon, so if you are planning to buy one, please do so early.

◎Goods: "Journaling Notebook"

This is a journaling notebook that I designed myself, including the layout and cover, to make it easy to use. It comes with a note on how to use it! It sold out in an instant online, but I will be bringing a few copies. This notebook is mentioned in my new book, so I would be happy if you could enjoy them together.

I'll also be bringing a few copies of the handwritten ZINE I made before. It's a cute, handmade-feeling book, and it's a quietly popular ZINE that newcomers often buy in its entirety every time.

Regarding mail order

I plan to resume mail order for my new book, "Folded Time," as soon as Bungaku Flea ends. It is currently out of stock, but I will accept orders here.
