Since he joined as a new graduate, he is more than a dozen years younger than me. We talked about various things during our break yesterday.

He is a graduate of a technical college, so he has an industrial background, but he had requested to work in sales. However, his new assignment is also at a factory site.

In that situation, he asked me, 'Taketake-san, don't you want to transfer to a department where you can utilize the skills from your previous company?'
I gave a firm NO.

Reading various books and looking at columns by different people, I feel that it is combining different things to become a niche talent.

Since I graduated from the faculty of engineering, it is natural that I have knowledge of machinery and electricity.
Anyone does. The company is well aware that it is a collection of such people.
Even if you screen them, there are many.

So, what if you add the fact that you have acquired saving techniques?
You get filtered a bit and the number decreases.

You can play a certain sport.
You can do installment investments.
You can file your own tax returns.

What if you keep filtering yourself like that?
Doesn't your scarcity increase little by little?

To do that, you must get completely hooked on what you are interested in.
It is about showering yourself with knowledge through reading and studying.

Talking to him, I finally said this:

Let's make sure that when the company's name tag is taken off, we aren't left with nothing.

When working at a prime company, you sometimes see people who think they have become great just by getting in. As if they were Superman. They are from other departments, though.

They come to my office during lunch break to talk with my boss about spending money on games—what a waste of time and money. Overtime-first policy. They also drive quite expensive cars.

He is in a general position, but since he is a dozen years younger, his salary is about the same as mine. With the same income, driving that car and living in a rental in this area,
it would be difficult to build assets.

Since this is not taught in school, it is a great pity.

I feel that a house of bricks is not something the company builds for you, but something you build yourself.
