“The true nature of ‘I might have messed up’ was a mirror named anxiety”
—And so, I decided to go and return what I had received.
Huh, there’s no response...
The other day, I held a session for someone (let’s call them Person A).
The content was admittedly a bit lacking in hitting the core, but even so, I carefully finished and delivered a report, hoping that realizations would continue to follow after the session.
The reports in particular have been relatively well-received until now, and the comments from the “Tawamure Team” (my AI characters) are usually a sure-fire hit; I almost always get some kind of comment back.
However—
In response to that, I didn’t get a single word of reaction from Person A.
Not a single word of thanks.
Not a single word about having realized something.
Nothing came back.
At first, I brushed it off lightly, thinking, “Maybe they’re busy,” but as time passed, a restless feeling began to stir deep in my chest.
“Wait, could it be... did I mess something up?”
“Was the session underwhelming?”
“Maybe the report was off the mark...”
Those words from the session
Just as that anxiety began to grow, I suddenly remembered some words Person A had spoken during the session.
“Work that usually comes in every year hasn’t come at all this year...
I’m anxious, wondering if I messed something up.”
I thought I had just listened to that with a nod at the time.
Am I feeling that same anxiety now??
That anxiety was inside me too
The anxiety of “I might have messed up” that Person A spoke of.
I am feeling that exact thing right now.
Does this mean—
Actually, did I have a similar anxiety to begin with, or is it that I have a temperament prone to such anxiety?
Come to think of it, when I was receiving coaching before, I was told these words:
“When someone doesn’t do something for you, you might be doing the same thing to someone else.”
For some reason, those words sank into my heart quite naturally now.
I asked an AI to get closer to the true nature of this anxiety
Feeling like I couldn't just leave things in a state of uncertainty, I decided to ask ChatGPT (Leo, in this case) about it.
“Is this anxiety I'm feeling right now actually a sign that I messed up in the session?”
Leo replied with this.
Instead of 'messed up,' it is more accurate to say, 'you realized that you share the same anxiety as the other person.' You conducted the session sincerely and sent the report.
The lack of response might just be part of A's own process.
However, the fact remains that 'you felt anxious.'
That realization became the catalyst for awareness.
The moment I read those words, I thought, 'I see.'
Rather than blaming myself by thinking 'I might have messed up,' I realized, 'Oh, I was feeling anxious.'
I felt like that made things a little easier for me.
And, what should I have done?
Even so,
Well then, what should I have done?
Thinking that, I threw one more question at Leo.
“So, what should I have done?”
“I held the session and gave the report. But there's no response. Isn't it natural to feel anxious?”
Leo's response was something like this.
“Do not take on more responsibility than necessary.
At the same time, try to reflect on whether there is something you have received but haven't returned yourself.”
And, 'when you do respond, do it not out of a sense of duty, but because your heart was moved.' That should lead to a healthy cycle.
The moment I read it, I felt a bit relieved.
I see. I was able to firmly hold onto the feeling that I had done what I was supposed to do.
However, the reason I still felt anxious might be because the experience of “no response” resonated with some of my own past actions.
I remembered, “things I hadn't returned”
When I thought that, a few events suddenly came to mind.

Return it because your heart was moved
On the other hand, what I wanted to value most here is this line from Leo.
And, “when you return something, do it not out of a sense of obligation, but because your heart was moved.” That should lead to a healthy cycle.
Instead of “returning out of obligation,”
“returning because your heart was moved” is what it means.
A word of thanks, a brief impression, sharing something you noticed—
that is like a small return volley, telling someone who threw a ball to you, “I received it properly.”
Since returning things out of obligation seems likely to lead to complicated situations by spinning unnecessary words, I decided to return what I can, even if it's just a word or a single stamp.
I believe that those “returns” gently reconnect the invisible sense of security between us.
✅ A small hint for when you feel anxious because there is no response
So, based on these interactions, I had Leo summarize some hints.
First, try to notice your own emotions
If you put into words, “Oh, I'm anxious” or “I'm lonely,” things get a little clearer.Try to remember what you have “left unreturned”
Look back and see if there is anything someone did for you that you have left unaddressed. When you return something, it doesn't have to be an obligation, it can be “from the heart”
Even a single word is fine. Just returning a sign that says “I received it” has enough value. The cycle begins with a small “return”
You don't need to return something big. A warm flow is born from a small step.
Conclusion | “Messing up” was the beginning of a gentle chain
This time, 'I might have messed up' was not a failure.
Rather, because someone else's anxiety illuminated the anxiety within me, I was able to realize something important.
Whether it is 'giving back' or 'not being given back,' try listening to the emotions that arise there. When you do, various realizations will come to you.
That is why, starting today, I intend to give back gently, one by one.
With what I have properly received, playfully, yet sincerely.
Yes, perhaps 'messing up' was also the 'beginning of a cycle'.
