I thought $110 a month for AI was too much
If I pay 5 times more, will I use it 5 times as much?
I stopped right in front of the payment button
thinking exactly that.
Right now, I pay
$110 a monthfor AI.
Since 1 dollar is about 160 yen,
that's around 17,000 yen😳
At first, I was on the cheapest plan.
I'm a systems engineer,
and I started using it
because I wanted to use Claude for development.
Before that, I would
subscribe to ChatGPT temporarily and then cancel,
or try out Gemini.
I was looking for what suited me best.
I tried Claude for a short time
for free,
and then immediately signed up for the cheapest plan.
It was 20 dollars at the time.
You start wanting to get your money's worth, don't you?
When you pay for a subscription,
you can see on the screen
how much you've used.
At first,
I used it with some breathing room,
thinking, 'I still have this much left to use.'
But this isn't just limited to AI;
when you sign up for a subscription,
you start wanting to
get your money's worth somehow😅
Plus, once you start using it, it's convenient,
so the number of times I asked Claude for help
kept increasing.
When that happens, it's quick;
I'd hit the limit in no time
and couldn't use it until I waited a while.
Days like that started to increase.
Staring down the limit
For a while, I managed
by dealing with that state.
It was like stepping on the brakes myself,
thinking, 'I'll leave it at this for today.'
But if you keep doing that,
you start putting off
the things you were trying to do.
Being made to wait is also stressful💦
That's when the higher plan
caught my eye.
$110 a month.
The usage limit is five times that of the Pro plan.
But,
I hesitated here.
I wondered if I would ever actually use five times as much
just by paying five times the price.
And there was one other thing
I had assumed.
A plan like this must be for
famous people who use AI all the time.
I thought it was a world
for people who are really
crushing it in online business.
I hadn't even considered
that I would use AI that much.
Even so, I took the plunge
and upgraded.
It wasn't the quantity that increased
What I felt immediately after upgrading was
the comfort of not having to worry
about the limits.
But that wasn't what
really changed.
Gradually,
I started thinking more and more,
I can ask Claude to do this, I can ask Claude to do that.
Maybe I can even do this.
The number of times I thought that increased,
and my usage frequency went up again.
Before I knew it,
the worry about whether I could use up five times the amount
was almost gone 🙌
No, I actually do use it!
That's how I feel 😂
I didn't have the material to judge yet
Looking back now,
the version of me that was hesitant
didn't even have the information
to make a judgment in the first place.
All I had on hand
was 'how I use it right now'.
Because I was thinking based on that extension,
I thought 5 times the price was too much.
It's the same with assuming
that only famous people use it.
The one who decided I wouldn't use it that much was
the version of me who hadn't used it yet.
I was thinking I was capable of more,
while at the same time
putting a lid on myself🤦♂️
So now,
when I'm hesitant, I try it for a short time,
and decide only after
seeing myself actually using it.
I think this applies not just to tools,
but to quite a lot of things
as well🌱
🟠 My Claude course is now live!
I've compiled the system I use
to move forward with Claude every day
into this course.
I'm offering it for free right now.
Please feel free to take a look!
You can get it here👇
You can't decide how much to pay for a tool
until you've actually used it.
But you can see the order
in which to deliver your own products in advance.
Get them to know you,
get them interested,
and get them to receive it.
This order
hasn't changed in 100 years.
The only thing that has changed
is the tools used to shape it.
So with today's tools,
you know what to create and in what order.
I have
created that roadmap.
When you can see the sequence in advance,
you won't stop choosing the right tools.
Please feel free to take a look!
