[Content Sales] The reason I built a system before focusing on customer acquisition
When I first started content sales,
I was teaching what I knew
to people one-on-one.
Back then, I suddenly realized something.
Even if I keep working hard to attract people like this,
I will just be working continuously forever.
If you are currently
trying to put effort into customer acquisition,
there is something I want to tell you first.
There is something you should do
before focusing on customer acquisition.
The harder you work, the more you have to keep working
In content sales,
the first thing I tackled
was creating my own product.
The product I created
was delivered in a format where
I taught it one-on-one.
It wasn't that I was
overwhelmed by the volume of requests.
Even so, the time spent teaching
had to be carved out
during my main job or on days off.
As the number of people I attracted increased,
my own time decreased.
I gradually began to see
that this was the way of working.
I wanted to increase my own time
What I wanted
was my own time.
So I decided to change my approach.
I took the content I had been teaching to each person individually,
compiled it into video materials,
and set it up to be delivered automatically.
Once you create it,
you can deliver the same content as many times as you like.
Even if you are not there,
the materials teach on your behalf.
Once I had this prepared,
my way of working changed significantly.
Because there is a system, I can keep going
The reason I am able to
write notes every day like this,
create Udemy courses,
and continue doing what I want to do
is because of this system.
Even if I don't respond to each person
who comes to me one by one,
the system handles it for me.
That is why I can focus on
the next thing with peace of mind.
If I had continued to work hard only on attracting people
without having a system in place,
what do you think would have happened?
I would have been overwhelmed by responding to the people I attracted,
things would have gradually fallen apart,
and I surely would have
been in trouble somewhere.
I probably would have
quit along the way.
There is no single correct order, but
Should you focus on customer acquisition first, or the system?
I don't think there is
one absolute correct answer to that.
However, the more seriously you work on customer acquisition,
the more you realize you need a place
to welcome the people who come to you.
When you have that system in place,
the effort you put into acquisition
won't end up strangling you,
but will instead create time for your future.
I am truly glad
that I chose to set things up this way.
So, specifically,
what should you prepare and how?
I have summarized the entire flow
into a single map.
I think this will be helpful for those
who are about to build their own systems,
so please take a look if you'd like.😊
