Work is Not a 'Bad Time': Achieving Work-Life Balance Through Stress-Free Working
Many companies are promoting work-style reform and work-life balance, but these terms often carry negative connotations.
Aiming to reduce working hours can give the impression that working hours are inherently painful. A comfortable workplace is not necessarily one with short working hours, is it?
In this article, I will explore ways to make work itself comfortable and improve the overall quality of life.
I am not advocating for exploitative companies.
I am aiming for a way of working in a healthy workplace environment.
Workplace stress creates 'bad time'

Many people are focusing on work-style reform and work-life balance, which stem from the desire to ensure that work does not negatively impact life. However, if work itself is comfortable, wouldn't its impact be positive overall?
What is work comfort?

Workplace environment: A comfortable working environment, a safe and clean space
The physical environment of the workplace also significantly affects comfort and stress.Relationships: Good communication, understanding team members' strengths
Team communication that maximizes the strengths of its members.Clarity of work content: Clear goals and deadlines
Communication in clear language makes work comfortable.
Ambiguous work creates stress because you don't know where to start.Growth opportunities: Skill improvement, career development
An environment where growth is expected naturally helps reduce stress.
Feeling that your skills and career are developing also increases your motivation for work.
The role of management

Managers have a responsibility to create an environment where employees can work stress-free. The following can be considered as concrete action plans.
Clear communication: Clearly convey expectations and goals.
An organization that does not do, or make others do, useless things.Fair evaluation system: Fairly evaluate results and provide feedback. A system that leads to rewards and growth. An organization without effort that goes unrewarded.
Providing growth opportunities: Provide work that is just a bit of a stretch.
An organization that recognizes challenges.
Summary

Instead of viewing working hours as 'bad time,' let's make work itself comfortable through the workplace environment, human relationships, and growth opportunities.
With such efforts, work-life balance will naturally fall into place, and the overall quality of life will improve.
Moving toward a goal with wonderful colleagues while feeling growth.
That in itself is not stressful, is it?
Many of you have likely participated in club activities, including morning or weekend practices. Did you feel stressed at those times?
Didn't the sense of accomplishment and the bonds with your teammates turn it into a source of vitality rather than stress?
If we view the act of working in the same way—as a platform for pursuing growth and achievement with a sense of purpose—then work, club activities, and other pursuits can all become a rich part of life without causing stress.
This is my proposal.
