Wearing sunglasses isn't just about the glare.
I enter a family restaurant.
I sit in a corner seat.
It's the most relaxing spot.
If there's someone's presence
behind my back,
I can't settle down.
I always want to sit
where I can see everything.
It's not just about
choosing a seat.
Even when I'm talking,
I want to grasp
as much information
as possible.
Hearing only part of it
actually makes me feel uneasy.
At a shop,
what catches my eye
are clothes with a good balance
of various colors.
Just looking at them
captures my heart.
But,
what I actually choose
are often simple clothes
that are almost one color.
Maybe looking at them
and wearing them
are different things.
Seeing is
just about receiving.
But
wearing something is
every day,
wrapping yourself in it,
and living your life.
That is why,
as much as possible,
I chose things that were light.
I
stripped away the color.
My field of vision,
the information,
and the color.
I want to
see everything.
I want to take it all in.
But
what I wear,
and what I carry,
I want to keep
as light as possible.
I suddenly realized.
When I wear sunglasses,
for some reason,
I don't get tired as easily.
I don't have to see everything.
I don't have to
grasp everything.
I never knew that being in this state
could be
so comfortable.
I want to see everything, but
when I see everything,
I get exhausted.
It's a contradiction.
Even so,
both of them
were the real me.
The part of me that wants to keep looking,
and the part of me that wants to keep things light.
I don't have to
choose one or the other.
Depending on how tired I am that day,
I can just
change how I choose.
