Things that are changing and realizing those changes

Changes you consciously made versus changes that happened without you realizing it
Do you ever separate these and check on them?

Now that April has arrived and I finally have some quiet time,
I was able to look back on the three months that flew by and reflect.

I hope that by summarizing some of my thoughts, it might serve as a hint for others on how to start thinking about these things☆

Things I did last year and 'consciously' stopped

  • Creating and checking a list of 100 things I want to do

  • Drinking on weekdays (though it happens occasionally)

  • Shopping for clothes

  • Home delivery services like COOP

  • Recording and distributing on Stand.fm

I had been doing a 'things I want to do' list for two years, and while it was fun to cross things off every month and feel like I was making progress, I started to feel trapped by the list, so I stopped for now.
Instead, my planner has a section for six-month goals and specific actions to take, where I write down my major objectives.

Whether or not to drink one 350ml can on weekdays. I stopped to see what kind of changes that would bring.
However, perhaps due to binge eating and drinking on the weekends, I haven't lost any weight (lol).

For clothes, I simply want to reduce them = I want to wear only the clothes I truly love. I also want to increase the number of clothes I make myself.
I am making progress, but I haven't been able to increase them yet.

Home delivery is convenient, but the variety and low prices at the local supermarket always win out.
Also, the meal kits don't really suit my taste.

I stopped Stand.fm intentionally, but it's something I want to restart yet haven't been able to.

Things I stopped without realizing it, or things that have just faded away

  • Listening to radio and Voicy every day

  • Setting rules for parenting

I used to listen to the radio because it was fun, but now that I'm used to it, I mostly listen to music.
As for Voicy, the channels I listen to have become fixed, so I listen less.

When my child was 2-3 years old, I felt a strong need to set rules like 'you must do this' or 'you must do that.' Now that they have grown and have more things they want to say and do, I want to stop controlling everything, so I stopped making rules as a parent.
However, it feels like my husband hasn't quite caught up to that change.

Things I have started anew

  • Joined an online salon (a new space for communication)

  • Going to the gym (haven't reached my ideal routine yet)

  • Sewing class (= Saturday work)

  • Creating a book (currently in the interview and content-refining stage)

Since March, I've been a first-term student at PIMLICO Campus, run by the esteemed Natsuko Shiraki.
There are many people who seem to be active in various fields, which is likely to be stimulating.
I hope I can resonate with someone, and I'm looking forward to being involved.

Regarding the gym, whenever I think I'll go, the timing doesn't work out, so I haven't been able to keep it up... but I try to go whenever I can. I want to go more.

In starting the sewing class, I'll be working on Saturdays.
This is something I've always avoided, but considering my family's current phase and what I want to do, I decided it was a viable option.

As for the book, I'm being interviewed as part of an initiative within a small organization that provides lectures on developing female directors.
This has been a good influence, as it serves as a reflection for me and helps me reaffirm my thoughts.

The meaning of listing things out and looking at them

When I write things down like this, I think to myself, 'Wow, I'm actually changing and evolving quite a bit.'

If I just go about my days as usual, I end up getting swept away by 'housework,' 'childcare,' 'work,' 'hobbies,' 'play,' and everything else in life.

Daring to write things down,
daring to say them out loud,
daring to look back on the day's actions,

is extremely important.

If I don't do things like this,
I might end up giving myself a low evaluation, thinking, 'Ah, I only managed to do this much today.' So, that's one reason why I do it.

Just by writing down what I've done, I can look at it from a third-party perspective and think, 'I did my best,' 'I made progress on this too,' or 'I managed to do this thing I'm not very good at.'

Being objective is important.

I'm glad I was able to look back at the last three months, yeah.

By the way, regarding the goals in my planner,
there's a section to write six items (even though I've written seven).

Two of those items have been achieved, and four are in progress.

Hey, it's amazing, isn't it? Looking back is a good thing.

The things I haven't been able to do are also coming to light (lol).

Things I want to achieve → Make my home a comfortable space: Not done
Specific things to do → Go look at interior designs I like (haven't gone yet)
Try decorating with small items at least (haven't changed anything)
Re-evaluate storage (if anything, it's overflowing??)

Do I need a storage advisor and an interior coordinator??
I want to look at interior designs I like, but...
Getting an opinion from a storage advisor might be a good idea.

I'd like to get started on that soon.

Any storage advisors out there who think, "That's me!!!", I'm waiting for you to contact me (please).

If you look back and write down what you've done, you'll be able to acknowledge and praise yourself!

I especially recommend this to those who feel like they haven't been able to try their best lately!
