July 2025 Diary
1st
I went out for dinner with my mother. I took a photo and sent it to my younger brother in our family group chat, and I laughed when I saw my mother, right in front of me, type 'It was delicious,' then go out of her way to delete it and retype it as 'It was horse-delicious 🐴' before sending it. Don't make typos on purpose.
2nd
I've never liked white rice to begin with, but the cheapest pre-washed rice I bought yesterday is pretty much unbearable, and I'm eating it while saying 'ugh.' It's at the level where it would be better not to eat it at all...
3rd
↑ It's pretty tough. A meal that isn't even enjoyable takes 1-2 hours because I can't get the chopsticks moving, which is the worst.
4th
I uploaded a game playthrough video today.
The keyword was 'give it back.' I was struggling with how to end it and recorded more than ever before, but as you can see in the thumbnail, I'm glad it had a punchline.
5th
I went out with my family. The story about my brother constantly failing to impress middle schoolers is top-tier content. It's incredibly funny.
6th
I finished Yo-kai Watch. I was surprised because I thought it would be a bit longer. It had such a great ending.
7th
I uploaded a game playthrough video today.
Maybe it's because the Yo-kai Watch numbering only goes up to 4, but the spell was broken all at once. (Though that feeling went away later on.) It had a clever ending, and I'm happy about that.
8th
I've been feeling like I have heatstroke since about the day before yesterday. I can live my life normally, but if I let my guard down, I feel like I can't fight gravity. I don't know if it'll help, but I bought a sports drink.
9th
I went around liking 'Good picture' posts for Gakumas on Twitter. My recommendations are better now, it's god-tier.
10th
At night, while I was walking to the convenience store to pay for some tickets, a loud motorcycle revved its engine right as it passed me, which was the worst. When you're hit with someone else's malice, you really can't help but think, 'Just drop dead...'
11th
I uploaded a game playthrough video today.
That was a death match! I think it's worth watching. I'm satisfied with how the post-talk came together too!
12th
I was filling out the Yo-kai Watch encyclopedia while playing some random archive in the background, but then it said 'A software error occurred,' and the data was wiped back to before I saved. Time to play it again!
13th
I recorded this because I want to try my best to upload a video tomorrow. It feels like a test of skill.
14th
I uploaded a game playthrough video today.
I used to talk about the kind of episode stories in the second half of the video a lot during my student days, so I wanted my friends to watch it. I'd be happy if it could be something to listen to while working.
15th
The neighbor in question was so loud that I finally banged on the wall. It actually worked and they got quiet, so I thought, 'If you can improve it that quickly, don't be loud in the first place.'
16th
I made a katsudon using the 20% off chicken cutlet I bought yesterday. It was delicious.
17th
Oh man.
This isn't just the best song of the year, it's the coolest song of my life. Hakushi Hasegawa, you really did it.
In this video, a bigwig said, "Since the sound direction is already satisfied at the point of consultation (in meetings), I tell them to make it freely."
Then what is this song (Sunfaded)? Can you please look at Hakushi Hasegawa's Wikipedia page!?

In short, I think it boils down to "making it freely," but I'm surprised management let such an alternative track pass. Let me call them a god.
So, why did someone with not a shred of rock in them write this song? From here on, it's just speculation, but I want you to look at the Wikipedia page for the music genre called shoegaze.

I think this is it. The aesthetic beauty of shoegaze. I think we can assume that "Hiro Shinosawa" was substituted here.
There was a "roar of a guitar solo that tears through dimensions," which is unheard of in idol songs, and I was truly happy. It's so cool.
In Gakumas, there are three parameters: Vo. (Vocal), Da. (Dance), and Vi. (Visual), and idols (in the real world) whose "music" outside of those is highly rated are called "music-oriented idols," and Hiro Shinosawa is as close to that as it gets. In fact, even before I started playing Gakumas, I was listening to "Koukei" because of "Hakushi Hasegawa!?" and "Contrast" because of "Odd time signatures!?," and I think "Hiro Shinosawa as an idol" reached music nerds because of the "she's pushing the envelope" factor.

In terms of the Vo., Da., and Vi. metrics, Hiro Shinosawa only has a strength in Visuals. I think it makes sense that she has "music" as an external strength as a second spear. The production is excellent.
I want Sunfaded to be performed live with a live band, like the music-oriented idol group I used to support, "sora tob sakana." I feel like the guitar solo will pierce my ears and I might collapse on stage... I want to see people on Twitter debating whether Hiro Shinosawa's singing voice is buried in the band sound, saying "I can't hear the lyrics!"
18th
I wrote the above. Misuzu Hataya might get mad at me.
19th
Seriously, the new Inazuma Eleven game is delayed? All my plans are ruined.
20th
Tomorrow is my mother's birthday, so we had a party. First, we went to Western. I felt like I tasted the flavors of my memories from eastern Hokkaido. After that, we ate a lethal amount of pizza while playing games at my younger brother's house. It was a good day!
21st
Double Impact was fun. I want to watch it every year!
22nd
Watching the Pokémon Presents made me want to play Pokémon, but the legendary rules and the two-legendary rule don't really excite me. I want to try hitting a rating of 2000 again at some point.
23rd
Recording failed!

The idea itself was good, but filming directly with a smartphone made the quality, framing, and everything difficult. I'll use this for next time!
24th
I made good fried rice!

I was trying my best despite my weak grip strength, and I got a blister on my left index finger. I was like, 'You've got to be kidding me!'
25th
I dropped and broke the small Shimajiro cup in the top right of the photo above. So sad.
26th
I opened up Pokemon BDSP thinking I wanted to try battling, but I was in the middle of shiny hunting for Arceus. I thought I'd get it and then train it, but yeah, it's not showing up...
27th
Yeah, it's not showing up. And it's not showing up in Yo-kai Watch either. I'm caught between 'it's not showing up' and 'it's not showing up'.
28th
I uploaded a game playthrough video today.
I swapped out the thumbnail and did everything I could, but for some reason, it's not getting views... Before, I would have been happy with 30 views, but my threshold has gone up...
29th
This was amazing.
I don't know anything about Blue Archive, but I watched it because it was a collaboration between two people I like. It was shocking because I usually talk about episode stories or facts. I want to tell fictional stories too.
30th
My younger brother came over and said, 'I'm nearby, so I'll stop by the house.' I was happy to eat gyoza with him!
31st
Octopath Traveler 0! A new game is here!!!

And it's this year!? December 4th!? That's way too soon! With a new Pokemon in October, Inazuma Eleven in November, and Octopath in December—three of my all-time favorite game series releasing one after another—it's almost scary, like the world is going to end in 2025. Thank you, Square Enix...!
