The Kindle e-book publication of the haiku collection "A Feast of Birds and Love: Spring 2022" is now complete!!!
I want to save as many cats as possible.
This haiku collection was created with that wish in mind.
I currently live with five cats.
Four of them are rescue cats.
(One was born in my home)
"Is there anything I can do to help cats?"
I discussed this with my ally, Apollo, who shares the same goal.
Although Apollo doesn't live with cats, he has a habit of "staring at them for the time being" whenever he sees one on the street.
He also loves cat cafes.
That's when the plan to "create a haiku collection and donate the proceeds" came up.
Coincidentally, around the autumn of 2021, haiku became very popular on the social media platform "note".
I am one of those people who started writing haiku because of a haiku project on note.
I launched a haiku project called "A Feast of Birds and Love" with Tsugumi Tachibana, a haiku friend I met on note, and I thought of compiling the haiku submitted to this project into a collection and using the proceeds for charity.
When I called for cooperation from participants in the project, they kindly agreed, and 103 "Bird and Love Haiku" were collected.
Furthermore, 122 haiku were selected from the 164 "Cat Haiku" collected in the "note Haiku Park" project hosted by Apollo.
These have been included in this collection.
After careful discussion, we decided to donate to "Neco Republic".

Connecting cats with foster parents through rescue cat cafes.
It is an organization with the motto "Helping cats while having fun."
Neco Republic's mission:
To provide every cat in this world with
a place to sleep in peace and
the happiness of a full belly.
All proceeds from this haiku collection will be donated to "Neco Republic."
So that as many cat lives as possible can be saved.
So that as many cats as possible can be happy.

…I am overwhelmed with emotion.
I am truly, truly happy.
There were many difficult things until the completion of the haiku collection.
Although I had been interested in Kindle publishing for a long time...
This was my first time doing it.
First, my partner in the "A Feast of Birds and Love" project, Tsugumi Tachibana, and I made a list of the haiku from those who responded to the collection plan.
Then, we also made a list of the haiku submitted to Apollo's "Haiku Park."
I edited it in Word.
I placed Tsugumi Tachibana's bird illustrations throughout...
Furthermore,Hikari kindly provided cat photos which I inserted into the cat-love haiku pages.
I went back and forth on this and that...
There were times when I was quite troubled.
However.
I received cooperation from many people in publishing this collection.
First, my ally Apollo.
This project started because he reached out.
He helped me mentally even when things were tough.
Love, peace, and harmony!
And my partner in the project, Tsugumi Tachibana, who did the proofreading and fine-tuning.
Without her, this collection would not have been possible.
We made adjustments while exchanging many emails.
