Starting the Tabishiro note. First, let me introduce myself.
Hello, this is Tabishiro!
We provide lodging, a sauna, and gelato about 5 minutes from Matsumoto Castle in Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture.
In this first note, I would like to talk about the thoughts behind starting "Tabishiro" and what kind of content we want to share from now on.
What is Tabishiro?
We named it "Tabishiro" by combining "tabi" (travel) and "nobishiro" (room for growth). We put our heart into this, believing that travel has infinite possibilities and wanting to increase the number of people who travel.
Because we all work hard at our jobs or school every day, don't you sometimes feel like you are playing a "constructed version of yourself"?
I love the feeling of freedom and being able to return to my true self that I get when I go on a trip.
When you go on a trip, you gaze at scenery you've never seen before, dance with joy at food you've never tasted, and meet people with different backgrounds.
Through new encounters with things, experiences, and people, you make various discoveries, and your options for thinking and living expand.
There is nothing more interesting than this.
I have traveled to many cities, but I think Matsumoto is a compact city that is easy to navigate. If you walk around with a map 2 or 3 times, you will quickly get a feel for the area.
Also, one of the good things about Matsumoto is that the people in the city love Matsumoto.
People I've met at guesthouses and shops tell me about various recommendations and charms of the city, and the places I want to go and people I want to meet keep increasing like a string of beads.
You might only visit a tourist spot once, but you want to visit familiar people and shops again and again. I would be happy if Matsumoto became a city that feels like a second hometown that guests want to return to many times.
Making you want to go out into the city of Matsumoto—Tabishiro hopes to help create such opportunities to connect the region and travelers.
Of course, you don't have to force yourself to connect with people or the region; you can just spend quiet time alone or walk around the city with friends.
I want you to spend your travel time freely and fully as yourself.
May the number of people who travel increase even a little.
With that thought in mind, we welcome our guests every day.
Why I started this note
Thankfully, supported by many guests and local people, Tabishiro has reached its 10th anniversary this year. Thank you always.
