Swallowtail: What Happened Next
I was raising a swallowtail
on a citrus tree
that I had grown from a seed.

From egg to larva, then pupa.
It grew up healthy and strong.

About ten days after it became a pupa,
its color changed,
and on the very day I thought, 'It's finally time!',
I was able to see it
emerging from the pupa.
Its wings were still damp
and soft.

Then, in about an hour,
they became magnificent wings.

When I took the pot outside,
it fluttered up, higher and higher.
It was its first flight, but it was so good!
Bye-bye, take care.
The joy I'd had for the past few days
had come to an end.
I might just leave the tree outside again,
waiting for a swallowtail
to come and lay its eggs.
